RE: Netbooks, the fabulous Mrs. Xyzzy recently got one of the HP models at Costco. It had better specs and was only $10 more than the Acer model she had been considering.

We came into C-120-somthing. There were people camping out all over baggage claim and check in last night. I guess alot of flights were cancelled or they were mis-connects from the weather.

I recently noticed that overnight a number of the Dunkins became Timmy Ho's, including both of the ones in Penn Station. I find this unacceptable.

Since you subscribe to Donut Weekly, did they have a reasoning on what Timmy's did to overtake so many Dunkins at once?

sbm12 congrats on hitting bump gold!

As for netbooks, i have a Lenovo S10 and I love it.

re: netbooks and screen size. I can't find the article, but I read somewhere that netbooks are going to be limited to 10.2" screen size to be able to run Windows7. Anything larger and it'll require a full Win7 license.:-:

After a long spat, the griesemongers in NYC decided to make a different chain awful. Details here.

This news was so big it escaped Donut Weekly and made the mainstream. Relevant quote :-::

In 1999, Dunkin' Donuts tried to end its relationship with Riese, alleging that the franchisee didn't do enough to keep stores clean. The New York Post had published a photograph of a mouse eating a doughnut in the window of a Riese-owned outlet. After years of lawsuits, both companies ended their contract this month.

Ahhh, so it's all the Riese owned ones that switched. Not such a loss IMHO. :)

It's a bad move for Timmy Ho's entrance into the NYC market. Could give them a black eye as they work to build their brand.

I see others in here get "donuts" on their news feed too. @:-)@:-)@:-)

Tim Hortons = blah. I tried them when I was in Canadia. Nothing special. They should have opened Shipleys.^

Remember, NW 757's are only catered with 2 Woodford Reserves in F - you may want to remind them to go back to Y to pick up a few more before departure.
