I would heart a 9.5 hour battery life as well.

My crystal ball says "tomorrow should be a good bump day from fll to ewr". I overheard the ga's say "overbook everything by 5"!

Not a fun time at JAX right now.

sbm12, with all the irrops tonight increasing the bump possibilities, do you think you will still be in JAX when I arrive on CO1005 at 10:41?

Steve GadFly, let me know what you wanna do with bus/train options. I have no problem splitting it up as CO 1E suggests, and I'll be happy to match the timing for riding with you.

Why don't we talk about it later this week. I'm flying out tomorrow but should be able to talk in the evening.

I'll be camping in the IAH B presclub tomorrow morning from 9a-11a, doing MAF-IAH-OMA.

Goodnight, box.

ATR's

I'm in the process of re-creating my flight history (business travel at least) using old expense reports. Can anyone tell me when Continental stopped using ATR's and started heavy with ERJ's? I've been leaving 'aircraft type' blank on a lot of the routes I know had to be smaller metal (ewr-bdl, iad, syr, roc, buf, ric, orf, stl, etc.) I put down ATR's on most of those routes in 2001 but I don't know about 2002. I know I'll be guessing to some extent but I wanted to make it at least semi-accurate.

Congrats on your bump!!

I didn't realize until now that my 500th flight on CO was on the 75th Anniversary plane .

^ Isn't there somewhere where one can look up the upcoming schedule of that aircraft? I feel like I may have seen some info (a couple CLE-LAS flights and the like)

What the heck is going on at EWR tonight? How bad is the weather?

WOW. Just wow. I'm really glad that I got out of there yesterday. (Under other circumstances, I would have been sad to miss out on major bump possibilities, but my parents are pretty unsympathetic to such things, and it wouldn't have made sense with this trip's itinerary anyway). We had enough  today...driving on SC-278, just about to cross over onto HHI, when the right rear tire blew out. Oh, and the spare was flat and had a nail in it, too. That did a lot for family morale, as you can imagine...

(we're here now, car is in the parking garage, [spare] tire, having been patched, is flat again, not QUITE sure how to solve this problem tomorrow morning...)

Sounds like quite a day of ! I'm not surprised I didn't hear from you about your upcoming train trip. You can give me a call later this week....I'll be on the road but should be able to talk most evenings.

Never mind....in digging through my office, I found a bunch of corporate travel agent iteneraries dating back to 2001 and they all list the aircraft type ^. Guess it pays to hold onto records!

As you'll need a new tire mounted on your rim, I would be looking toward getting a one-day rental (Enterprise?) if there's no tire shop / dealer / SuperCenter (Wal-Mart?) nearby ...

I use Shutterfly. While not perfect I am very pleased with their service. And they have 25% off coupons every now and then.

CRP Do Recap

  • Awesome steaks and incredible cheeses.
  • Homemade guacamole.
  • Beer.
  • Finding out that beer is not allowed at Mustang Island State Park — and the fine is $500.
  • Shopping at HEB for things that we ended up leaving in the HGI for one of the maids. Hope she enjoys two unopened loaves of Mrs. Baird's, and a couple of packages of HEB flour tortillas, as well as the remnants of a few six packs of Modelo.
  • Tragic people at the beach.
  • Hot people at the beach.
  • ALCO molesting J.Edward in the front seat of a rented Honda CRV (and pics taken to prove it).
  • Sunburn.
  • Watching multiple cars getting stuck in the sand at the beach, followed by a couple of our own cars getting stuck.
  • Certain Box members getting really, really, really drunk and then doing things in the ocean that should not be mentioned here.
  • Renting The World's Most Awesome™ Rental Car, a craptastic Grand Prix from Avis that had well over 30,000 miles on it, and a smell inside that was described as "grandma's douche bag."
  • A certain Box founder relieving himself not once, not twice, not three times, but four times in a couple of hours in various parking lots next to said World's Most Awesome™ Rental Car.
  • Great baseball game at Whataburger Field.
  • Whataburger — multiple times.
  • Someone forgetting his ID, then being threatened with arrest, a phone call to the TABC, and being tossed out of the ballpark for having a beer with no ID — and the person this happened to was a good 5-10 years older than the kid threatening him.
  • Trying to break into the pool at the HGI after hours using the key from The World's Most Awesome™ Rental Car. This resulted in the key that that car becoming nearly unusable for starting the car.
  • Watching high class TV like Cheaters while drinking beer, after being locked out of the pool at the HGI. And witnessing a woman take her obese "whole lot of man love" to an all you can eat pizza buffet on a date.
  • Two Box members sharing a bed at the HGI, after a day of much drunkenness. Not going to speculate what happened there… They shall remain nameless, but one is named after a zoo animal and the other is about to move across the country.
  • Finding Dublin Dr. Pepper, made with pure Imperial brand cane sugar, in 20 oz. bottles at a convenience store in Goliad, TX.
  • Flying VCT-IAH, and realizing that ALCO and I doubled CO's passenger load on the flight to four passengers.

Two new tires, of course (a new spare as well). There is apparently a Tire Kingdom a mile from here...
