Yes, DC-West Coast fares on weekends in August are elevated on all carriers.

I noticed this carrying in to September as well. Any idea why?

My guess is that people traveling on vacation during all of August through Labor Day purchased their tickets early and bought up all the seats in the low fare buckets.

Also looks like UA pulled their daily non-stop IAD-LAX that departs around 1900 hours.

Sounds like a good shot at the illusive Gold companion upgrade! ^

How was your stay at the Nines?

The Nines is a very nice hotel. The room is a little small but well layed out and the bathroom is great.

Service at the hotel is what I would expect from a Luxury Collection property. Have had reservations made at a restaraunt that I wasn't able to make myself.

Our first night the hotel was packed and we had some really unruly neighbors who were quickly quieted. Other than that, we are really enjoying. I think we will follow in the footsteps of J.Edward and make PDX our hurricane escape city.

Really? That was a popular flight, and used to be operated by a 777.

PDX is one of my favorite cities in the world. I travel there often and almost moved there 10 years ago.

^ Excellent! I'll have to check it out if I manage to step foot out of PDX the next time I'm up there. :)

Which Hyatts? I've stayed at the Grand Hyatt on Union Square and the Hyatt Regency at the airport. It's been a few years since I have stayed at each, however, but they were nice at the time.

Just re-listed the house in LBB with the same realtor that has produced NOTHING over the past 6 months. We are giving her another month then will probably just rent it out until this housing mess is over with. I just hate to rent it out after we spent $2,000+ on carpet that I know will be destroyed by college students.

ETA: The "decorations" you see in the pictures were done after I moved out over 3 years ago.

Still no ATL-ICN 77L availability 13 days out... :(

The 777 is still there, it leaves at 1730. There used to be a flight around 1900 or 1930 hours that was a 752 that's no longer on the schedule, at least not in August anyway.

The airport Hyatt is $89 a night the days I am there, the Santa Clara Hyatt Regency is as well, and they have free parking, yes it is out of the way but it is also in tech central, and I have some ins there to maybe get some tours :D The downtown one is only $99/night

Ok; I must have been confusing the 1730 one with the 1900 one, because the more I think about it, at one point, the 777 used to depart at 1750/1800. I had that confused with the 1900 departure.
