I didn't realize until now that my 500th flight on CO was on the 75th Anniversary plane .

I actually have a trip I need to take in September that the $400 would cover completely but I'm not sure I want to spend it on that since it was a trip that I had pretty much accounted for spending real money on, so I could spend this $400 on something else. Yes, I really think that way. Sad, really.

Not by degree (ChemEng), but by practice, yes - I work for Kraft, and I'm basically an internal consultant on Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, etc.
I'm on back to back trips right now - in SGF over the weekend for this project, then MSN on Monday for a meat project at the home of the non-crashed Wienermobiles. The good news is my next two trips after those are more exciting destinations - MEX and CUR (Curitiba, Brazil - via GRU)

Note to self: avoid Opera Mini 4.2.
Standing in the longest Starbucks line I've ever seen but I'm using my free drink coupon, darn it.

Good day Box.
Have Mamma Mia on HBO in the background. Pierce Brosnan cannot sing worth crap as were all the other male cast members. What were they thinking when casting the movie?

Yeah...my originally scheduled 7:45p JAX-LGA on DL was delayed about an hour for that. I, however, am happily ensconced in the HGI at JAX, wondering how to spend my $400 VDB from DL. When I did OLCI earlier they noted that the flight was overbooked. I got to the SkyClub at JAX and casually inquired if it was still over. The agent said yes. I asked if I needed to go to the gate or if she could handle it there. She took my BP, asked me to have a seat and made the call to the gate. Before I had my beer in hand she came over to let me know that the offer was $400, a hotel room and a dinner & breakfast voucher, plus a seat on the 7am flight out tomorrow that still gets me to NYC to get to work on time. I was on that like white on rice. I somewhat jokingly suggested that the HGI would be my preferred hotel if they were taking requests. Apparently the Clarion is the normal DBC hotel here but they tried to find a supervisor to approve my request anyways. When they couldn't find one they just booked me right in. :D :D The only down side was that the dinner voucher was only $7, a sum too small to purchase ANYTHING at the only restaurant in the airport - Chili's. Still, since I had planned on buying dinner there anyways it was nice to get half a margarita for free as part of the deal. Now to figure out what to do with $400 in Delta D:cool:llars.

Nice bump, sbm12. Not needing to go the gate makes it that much better. ^
I'm gonna call it a night - since I schlepped to and from the BWI cruise terminal today, I'm not gonna stay up. Conference call and a bucket of range balls with a friend on the ledger for tomorrow. Steve GadFly, let me know what you wanna do with bus/train options. I have no problem splitting it up as CO 1E suggests, and I'll be happy to match the timing for riding with you. Night, Box. |

For some reason, I have a block against using a bump voucher towards a domestic flight. Even if I was buying both a domestic and an international ticket on the same day, I'd have to use the voucher towards the international flight. Weird, I know...

Now they are telling us that EWR is closed to all arrivals and departures and that all inbound aircraft are being diverted due to zero visibility . What the heck is going on at EWR tonight? How bad is the weather? |
Another round of thunder storms rolling through.

All of the thunderstorms we didn't get in the beginning of the month we're getting now. :-: It has been booming for 20 minutes so far and it looks like they go all the way up from here to Westchester on the radar. |
