At the 2004 Inauguration, I sat next to some sort of Metal of Honor section, with at least a dozen MoH recipients present and Billy Baldwin in the middle of them all. Got to meet a few of them.

You were that guy.

Sometimes I will wear my CO polo when on MR's. It seems they take care of you when you a little better when advertise for them. I have also worn it on AA flights just to see how they treat you and surprisingly they treat you well too.

Teh Walmart let me buy 2 48 packs of pseudoephedrine when I needed them for my previous dog. Not that she had allergies, but it fixed her little 'leakage' issue. And was about 1/20th the cost of the medication from the vet.

I agree.

Actually, that's the city I've thought of visiting to cross the state off my list.

I've wanted to play there for quite some time. Every time I look, the fares are always horrific.

I booked one of my GEG runs with a sufficient overnight to be have time to play there. But it will be April and I'm not sure how viable (or expensive) that really will be.

The Coeur d' Alene Resort Golf Spa and Resort: 1-800-688-5253

IMO, any greens fee is worth it. The only other public course I know of in the States that such a statement can be applied to is TPC Sawgrass.

However, I have a fairly substantial list of states not yet visited...

I'm only at 21 of 50, but if my fiancee gets her way, we will at some point be doing a whirlwind New England trip where I can knock out several heretofore unvisited states. I'll be getting #22 by going to MSP in October.

I wish I had done the same, but my longest overnight in GEG is ~10 hours. It would have been nice to knock Idaho off of my list of 15 states I still need to visit.

Alabama
Alaska
Arkansas
Idaho
Kansas
Louisiana
Maine
Mississippi
Montana
Nebraska
North Dakota
Oklahoma
South Dakota
Vermont
Wyoming

Of the ones on your list that I have visited, I would highly recommend Vermont. It's in your backyard, so to speak, and well worth visiting. The area between Burlington, Montpelier, and Cabot is stunning.

I'd like to plan a stay at the new Sheraton in Portsmouth, NH, to knock out that and Maine. I would probably use the opportunity to pay a visit to the Shipyard Brewery in Portland, ME. Their Pumpkinhead seasonal Ale is ^

I told you guys. PDX has great weather during the summer, a great city attitude (most people are pretty nice), and they all love their beer, the city, and enjoying each others company.

It's my new hurricane escape city.

sbm12 Sep 14, 2009 2:47 pm

Hmmm...$200/round to play Cd'A. And another $60 for rental clubs. The good news is that a room + golf rate is about the same, I think, so I still might do it.

Oh, and I met a FTer who is a member at Sawgrass. I was supposed to play the 2nd course there back in July but the timing didn't work out.

The other half has been pushing for a trip around New England before we move out of the area so I'm sure we'll get up there soon. I'd love to check out The Equinox.

On the states front I'm missing:
Arkansas
Colorado
Deleware
Idaho
Indiana
Iowa
Montana
Nebraska
New Hampshire
New Mexico
North Dakota
South Dakota
Utah
Vermont
West Virginia
Wyoming

I've visited 34 states and 41 countries. That seems wrong at some level.

Not horrible if you consider all included. They throw in range balls, forecaddie, pre-round massage, and an engraved (literally) bag tag. You're still tipping the forecaddie, but some courses charge an entirely separate fee for caddying services. At Bethpage, you negotiate with the caddies with no help from the course. If you want to bring your own clubs, let me know. You're welcome to my Club Glove.

I haven't visited many countries but I've visited some doozies, including two unfriendly to the U.S. and one non-friendly to the U.S. (France). ;) I didn't need a passport stamp to "visit" one of the former.
