Just got my 4-day EUA (forgot to split PNR pre 5-day) for Friday's flight. It was F3 and I still got the EUA. I guess CO doesn't plan on selling too many F seats on EWR-JAX.

No you did not. You are free to tell the TSA to shove it when they ask to strip search you.

Yes, I neglected to mention the best part of the xray process: TSA "reviewing" images of your naked body.

Sure, it would be great to get 50% off an international flight. But I'll still not decline an offer of 50% off a domestic flight.

All those decongestants with pseudoephedrine and such are really bad for one's cardiovascular health when used long-term. My sister used took Claritin D daily for several years and was instructed by her doctor to stop because it was raising her blood pressure beyond acceptable levels. No matter how congested I am, I never use any decongestants.

Yeah, he was told to stop taking it because of the blood pressure issues.

I rarely use them either — only when very congested, and needing to travel, or I'm so congested I can do my job, which has happened on occasion.

At least the EUA chances on the way home tomorrow (1890 & 1676) are better than they were today.

My crystal ball says, "1890, is very possible. ^ but not possible for 1676."

Have a nice flight home.

Good point — I didn't even think of that. I don't remember how he paid for it… just sent him a message asking if it was on his corporate Amex, which it may have been. If it was, that may help make this situation a lot better.

Heh, those poor souls the next time I fly.

1676 and 1776 are notoriously good bump chances.

So, I went through one of those TSA human xray machines at CLE for the first time on Sunday and must say that it was utterly ridiculous. First, it slowed the process down and seemed to take at least twice as long as the regular metal detector lanes. Second, they make you take everything, including non-metallic items, out of your pockets (think tissues, pieces of paper, etc.), which slows the process down even more. Third, you have to stand in the machine with your arms up like a perp for a good three to five seconds or so, which is simply idiotic. Finally, they add another step by making you wait a bit before they let you go to the end of the conveyor and retrieve your bags. I am not sure whether they do this to keep the line from backing up, or if it takes them that long to review the xray image.

The whole thing seemed completely absurd.

I saw one in use at ABQ in July and it was really, really slow. I gladly went to a regular metal detector line, which processed about 10 people in the time it took the new body scanner to do 3-4.

Doing such will more than likely result in a missed flight, no?

It takes that long for the green light on the back of the machine. I also wonder about the need for all of the TSA goons on the machine to wear radio headsets...

Man, if they want to look at this svelte body by all means go ahead, but be quick about it. That machine takes more time and more effort and yet I still need to take off my damn shoes.

No. I refused to step inside the naked machine (at ABQ? I forget...) and the TSA person (reluctantly) called for a secondary. That stupid machine slows the line down so much that I think the secondary ended up being faster.

Nope...just a friendly groping from the smurf on duty.

So the guy in the back room can make inappropriate comments about the people they are screening and the screener outside can substantiate, chuckle or otherwise be in on the fun and games.

I wonder if they encrypt the traffic on them or if we could pick it up with a commercial scanner.
