TO: the Kettles who scheduled a half hour connection after our flight from NRT to EWR

FROM: your fellow PAX

Did you really need to make your stupidity our priority? Was there really a need to shove your way up the jetway? Did you really think the CBP officer gave a crap about your dilemma? Or every else with a uniform that you squawked to after we deplaned?

I mean seriously, you knew enough that you did not check bags but you really thought it was a good idea to book such a tight connection?

I used to really love trains until I lived next to train tracks and dealt with bitter engineers who wanted everyone else to know they were working the late shift when they passed by the house with their horns a blarin'...

My grandparents' house in NJ before they moved to FL full-time was four lots off of the NJ Transit line. We never got horns there but it was always fun as a little kid to watch the china cabinet shake a little.

And these tools booked 30 minutes? Now, granted, I'm an EWR O&D guy, so I've never had that exact travel pattern...but that's just stupid beyond comprehension. It's not even excusable if the bank of flights that you're trying to connect to does not offer a departure to your destination. If the choice is 30 minutes or 3 hours, I do 3 hours. If the choice is 30 minutes or 6 hours, I still don't do 30 minutes.

Is that even a legal connect?

I did not think so either, but they may have been on two different tickets.

If they booked it, it had to be legal at the time they booked it. I can't imagine doing the C to A dance in 30 minutes or less, much less clearing Customs, getting bags, and schlepping onward.

Edit: did not consider separate tickets. That only makes them or whoever did their booking even dumber.

I didn't know if the roof collapse required them to move (e.g. to a less spacious location); didn't want to provide a recommendation on dated information.

Regardless of the airport I would not book 30 minutes for an international to domestic connection. Heck, I was nervous with 90 minutes but everything went smooth, even with a bunch of 777s dumping pax in the CBP zone at the same time.

My total spend on CO is about $3,300 for about 91k EQM's. I have also received $1,600 in CO vouchers so my net spend is only $1,700 or 1.8 cpm. Some of my flights were not great on the cpm including 2 to FLL and some wedding planning trips to IAH that were in the mid $300's.

I was concerned about almost 3 hours a week ago at JFK.*

also some ticket agents can break the legal connect. I know I have booked UA tickets on expedia and shattered the min ORD legal connect.

Question for the Box:

Home warranty company sent someone who didn't even try to fix my plumbing problem "assuming" that the problem had to be at least 20 feet away in the pipe (outside the foundation) without trying any tools or interventions at all. He got $45 from the home warranty company; the company was incredulous when I told them about his lack of action. My home warranty covers everything within the foundation, and this guy didn't even try to snake the toilet, no less the main pipe.

Not knowing whether the problem is inside or outside the foundation, any insight on the following potential scenario?

Neighbor has large tree - tree root busts my sewer pipe. What would my homeowner's insurance policy do? What would absentee-landlord-neighbor homeowner's insurance policy do?
