If any one in the Box in NYC are up for dinner (nothing fancy) or drinks next week let me know. I have to play tour guide for the anglo-canuck and I will be staying overnight in the city for the first time ever for more than two days. All days good except Tuesday. She's been to way more places in this would than me so that's always a conversation piece.

ALCO I'm considering a status match to Air Astana Gold after your creative use of your Air Astana card in DC. :D

I was unimpressed with Vietnam. Sure, it is cheap, but the locals harass the tourists to no end in an effort to sell us crap. All the time. I was annoyed. There are some diamonds in the rough there, but overall I was not a fan.

Does anyone know Steve Gadfly's "trick" for booking from PHL 30th St. Station, but getting on the train in MetroPark, NJ?
I want to book a flight to SAT, but if I go from EWR on the 7:10pm direct flight, it will cost me $877. If I go from 30th st. station, connecting in EWR to the 7:10pm flight it will be $139. Go figure! Same darn flight. I remember Steve said there is a way to book the fare from ZFV, but board the train in Metropark, but you have to do something odd with the check-in. We discussed it at the Shogun dinner and now I've completely forgotten what he told me. Is SteveGadfly on vacation this week or is he working? |

There is now a pretty sizeable difference between using CO miles to fly business to Europe (105K) and US miles (80K). Wonder if it makes sense to credit to US and get the US credit card -- especially if one's status/route pattern doesn't yield upgrades.
Transcript review = must take three classes. Now to find them. |

Do you think that there will be another PWP thread next month?

I think he's on the road this week, but several of us have his cell number. I doubt he'd be perturbed.
I sent him a PM, so if he happens to check FT, he will see it and I don't feel so bad about that. |

There is a significant difference between the biz-class products on the two carriers, and a significant difference in the agita factor of those miles being worth something at some point in the future.

Well, buying a stake can mean lots of things. For example, CA hold a significantly minority stake in CX, but they're in separate alliances. And you can say CA, MH and CZ have basically one majority owner - the Beijing government.
