Which agriculturally reliant, slightly third world country does not have this? Even India, which I don't think is a third world country by economic standards has major issues of harassment of tourists by children.

I got a FedEx email that says they are holding a document worth $684,000 and awaiting for me to claim.

So I'm thinking of suing FedEx for opening the package and knowing the contents.

Wouldn't that information be easily ascertained from the packing slip and insurance documents?

I didn't find it nearly as bad in India, Bangkok, Palau or the Philippines (though in the latter I was isolated). They were much more in my face in Vietnam, walking into restaurants rather than staying outside, etc.

At Taj Mahal (Agra) we didn't get a whole lot of pestering either. Though many locals were eyeing my camera and were so friendly in offering to take pictures for us all the time .

No, it was Nepal Airlines. Sorry.

Indonesia. In the many places I have traveled there, I have never been harassed by touts, even in really touristy places like parts of Bali or the market areas in Jakarta. At Bukit Lawang (national park with orangutans), we got the hard sell from a tour guide, which got kind of annoying because they try to sell you overnight camping tours, which we had no iterest in. But, you need to use a guide for the hike into the forest anyway, so we ended up hiring the guy, and the little tour operation he ran provided a great tour. They also included a really nice lunch of fried rice and fresh fruit. The cold fried rice we ate during the tour was some of the best I had in all of Indonesia.

If any one in the Box in NYC are up for dinner (nothing fancy) or drinks next week let me know. I have to play tour guide for the anglo-canuck and I will be staying overnight in the city for the first time ever for more than two days. All days good except Tuesday. She's been to way more places in this would than me so that's always a conversation piece.

There is now a pretty sizeable difference between using CO miles to fly business to Europe (105K) and US miles (80K). Wonder if it makes sense to credit to US and get the US credit card -- especially if one's status/route pattern doesn't yield upgrades.

I can probably do something late one night. I work until 8pm so I couldn't meet you until ~8:30ish.
