I can add it to the FAQ, and I will, but I'm really not sure that it is worth calling in to make the change. It is supposed to be fixed at the airport. The agents there are supposed to know how to do it. I really don't understand why folks keep insisting that it happen before then; it doesn't actually get evaluated until ~T-30min anyways.

Actually I look at my upgrade list at around 1 hour before departure, especially when I am overbooked in the back and not in the front. I also look to see who isn't checked in. If you are not on the list, I "could" assume that you do not want to be upgraded on this flight, perhaps due to needing to sit with a child or boss or whatever. I don't ever assume this but other GAs might not care. If I need to have seats open up in the back of the bus, I start my battlefield upgrades early so it is important to be on the list as soon as you can.

As a disclaimer, I will not clear Elites out of order and will hold off upgrading until I have spoken to you or you get checked in. But others might not care.
