Second consecutive weekend with no travel. Next week, though, teh Aeroporn-Fest can begin in earnest. Will get to try the latest AF J for the first time (only ever flew in their old recliners)... and then for the A310. :D

Great to hear! ^ I'm now kicking myself for not trying to make some time to get in on this deal.

I'm even more pissed that my reservation didn't go through.:mad::mad::mad:

So the hotel I'm in officially earns a  rating. The comp. breakfast was surprisingly good though. :-:

Off to a day of meetings. Wish I was flying home today instead of tomorrow when there's going to be guaranteed  as the Tropical Storm rolls through EWR. At least I'm on a paid (in $) F itinerary that involves a 762. They can delay that sucker as long as they want as long as I'm napping on board. :-:

Definitely one of the best cabin service/food experiences I have had and am looking forward to my return flight in a few days. Seats 9AC on the upper deck (exit row) definitely are the best seats in C. Flight was about 40 minutes early and I managed about 7.5 hours of sleep. Pre-arrival breakfast was probably the best pre-arrival meal I have ever had in a C/J cabin: muslei, fresh fruit, pastries/croissants/muffins, then a choice of Nasi Lemak (which I had) or banana crepes for the main course. Also available were strawberry smoothies (which I consumed copiously), six different coffees (the Indonesian coffee was served from a French press), espresso, cappuccino, and six different types of exotic teas. Dinner after departure also was very good.

Having flown MH C many times , I can say this is very accurate. Their service is great and I was very upset when they announced the EWR-ARN-KUL flight would be axed.

The MH F service is also great, although there is not a huge difference between C and F besides the seat. They really are a top notch airline.

I completely agree. Although, I'm sure you'd also agree that he's not the first one to preach this message.

His Twitter feed seems to have a lot of the "love" and "care" message. I also heard a lot of it in his early talks, but maybe he's cut back on it a bit to appear a little more professional.

Rather than completely quitting your job, take a less stressful job and devote your free time to your passion. I dunno, that resonates with me.

He seems to only have one keynote, but it's nice to hear he's not repeating himself as much anymore. :) I'll have to give his Big Omaha keynote a shot...

Like I said, I really appreciate his contributions to the wine world. They have really helped make wine appealing to a completely new crowd so a big ^ to him for that. If you're ever up this way, we can stop in his wine store - it's a pretty nice operation!

Box, I've posted in the Austin DO thread about this but I'll post it here in case anyone is interested...

There is a BBQ joint in Lexington, TX that was voted #1 in the state and after talking to two friends who are paid food critics, they confirm that it is darn tasty. So, I'm thinking of making the drive out that way on that Saturday before going down to meet up with everyone else in Lockhart. The place gets busy and sells out early, so I was hoping to be there by 11am.

Anyone interested?

Then reroute MSP-IAD-LAX-SEA-GEG, with IAD-LAX in 3-Cabin F. :D

Wow. The things that have NEVER EVER occurred to me before in my life. :p

This has been on my to do list for quite some time. I was a little wary of it being in Texas Monthly but apparently it is the real deal. Unfortunately I'm off to Alvin and Matagorda Island this weekend so no Lexington.

I'm off travel this weekend and next and actually looking forward to it.

In other news, PS3 slim is being shipped to me from Amazon. Bought it really for the blu-ray player.

Any good PS3 games worthy of Boxizens? (Strategy-type preferred)

I can feel summer slowly thinking about possibly losing its grip on teh Pit. The past two mornings have been low 70s with reasonable humidity. Walked out of the office yesterday afternoon, and was not assaulted with instant steam-bath sensation. Sure, it was still in the 90s, but it was tolerable. Granted, it will probably linger like this for several more weeks (and maybe even have an occasional spike back to upper-90s), but I think the worst has passed. :D
