Yes -- but they can be for any airline, IIRC. I think channa ran into that once where he was trying to use another airline ticket (UA?) to enter a CRC with a PC membership. The matron balked, he insisted, they checked the profile and turned out he was right.

Morning Box. I'm going through serious Dunkin' withdrawals...

Are you getting the shakes? Cold sweats? How many hours until you can get your fix?

But how many bags do you have and does Plus1 have to check for you?

Only 3 to check including his golf bag, thank you very much! I packed lightly, for me. One bag is 69 lbs; one is 66 lbs. Keep in mind he has more stuff than I because he has one set of golf clothes and one set of regular clothes for 5 of the days we are there.

The fact that we need a new mattress didn't help the sleep last night either. When my wife woke up, I declared this day to be "buy a new mattress day" so we are off to the store...

Isn't it amazing after staying on good hotel mattresses that you come home and say NO MORE! Happy shopping.

My weekend travel is by car. Sunday am, my dad and I are making the trek from Chicago-Estes Park to spend a few days backpacking in the Rockies.

Sounds like a fun trip; not the car part, but the backpacking in the Rockies part; (not that I would ever do that but it truly sounds fun). Enjoy the time with your dad!

You are so bad!

Our AMS flight is slightly delayed (30 mins) so hanging out in the E club a bit longer. I'm awaiting a spreadsheet that I should have had hours ago and getting :mad:er by the moment!

Off to get the rental car for our weekend of driving all over Southeast Texas. Not so many miles but lots of small roads. Should be a good time though.

Have a good un', Box.

I'm at the PC at DCA, mostly dry now after being caught in a downpour on the way to the Metro. I had intended to check out the DL club, but the DL people were most obnoxious. They refused to let me in because I was not flying anywhere. I told the agent at the desk that I wanted to check the place out prior to the divorce. She refused. When I pointed out that CO was happy to give me a gate pass to visit the PC any time I asked, she frowned. She then told me I was violating FAA rules! I asked about buying a ticket and she frowned, whereupon I told her I'd seen enough and that I was going. She did offer to let me briefly look around but I told her I'd go back to CO where knew I was welcome.

Some jerk in the corner here is on a conference call via the speakerphone on his Blackberry  After about 5 or 6 (at least) people shot him dirty looks, he turned the volume way down. We can still hear it, though. :td:

I had the same problem a week ago on Saturday. Probably after my visit they double checked the rules and now doing strict enforcement. I dont understand the reasoning unless they are full. They get money each time I visit so why do they care unless I am potentially displacing someone else.

I thought that within the last year the rule had changed to entry with card no matter what? Is that not correct?

Nevermind. Just looked on the Delta Website and you have to have a ticket to get in. :( Although they say they have the same rules of the WC which would allow you in without a same day ticket.

Actually, speakerphone guy came back in and I was trying to get a picture of him. Snore guy was in the foreground and I almost got the perfect shot -- but speakerphone guy moved behind a plant as my phone took the picture. The click noise from my phone woke up snore guy. Is there a way to turn off the damned camera click noise on a Blackberry? I've not been able to find out how to control that. None of the modes/settings seem to allow it.

Yes. DL apparently doesn't want people in the club unless you're flying. But you don't have to be flying DL — you just have to have a boarding pass. Why, I have no clue.

This other teaching prep exam goes into the way back machine, big time. I can't remember the last time I asked myself what the main idea of a passage is.
