It's quite easy to avoid paying. Wear your seat belt. Simple as that.

And are you stating the current law, which has been in effect for decades now, requiring front seat passengers to wear a seat belt wasn't effective? Despite data showing an increase in compliance, and reductions in severe injuries, disabilities, and deaths due to not wearing a seat belt?

IMO, seat belt and helmet laws: ^

If any of those become a significant enough public safety hazard to warrant legislative action, then... yes. The States and Federal Government have a Constitutionally recognized Police Power to promote the public health, safety, and general welfare. The Supreme Court of The United States has time and again upheld reasonable exercises of that police power over individual rights, since the very founding days of this nation.

Same here. Random checkpoint that slow everyone down are a major :td:. But I have no issue at all with an officer stopping someone they see driving without a helmet or seatbelt, or with issuing a ticket when they stop you for another violation and then see that you're not wearing it.

I'll admit the following:

* I wear a seatbelt in the car 100% of the time, even when just moving in the driveway.
* I wear a full-face helmet when riding a motorcycle, even though I have a brain bucket.
* I always have my seatbelt fastened on an aircraft unless using the lavatory.

There's no law requiring me to do these 100% of the time. I just make decent choices.

Just found out I need to go to BNA in a couple of weeks and not looking forward to CO or UA for a person who avoids RJs.

If everyone was like you, and me, and others who do the same, there'd be no need for such laws.

But that's not the case. Some people need regulation in order to do what's right.

Are you willing to suffer the indignities of US? IIRC, they offer mainline to BNA via CLT.

We've discussed why I'm DL/NW (and AA, WN to a lesser extent) in the past ;)

I wouldn't get to teach ethics if everything was regulated (legal) ...

Answer to question - probably no. Answer to statement - factually correct.

I am not sure why they make those things except for a survival flying pan... :D

i have two full helmets, one is a full face flip up style that is great for protection but also when stopped and need to get a quick drink or something without a straw :)
