Assume you mean OpenTable - they either made a mistake or just didn't want to pay the commission :td: Send a copy of your receipt to OT and they'll give you the points / remove the no show from your record.

on law front one decent change here in TX:

HB 2730 removes DPS authority to suspend a concealed handgun license (CHL) for the holder’s failure to display the CHL to a peace officer on demand. It removes associated penalties and suspensions for the failure to display.

I learned a few years ago that if you want spam free e-mail and to avoid garbage like that, you pretty much have to pay for e-mail service, and host your own domain name. In two years of such a setup, I've had almost no spam, and never have received an e-mail that wasn't meant for me.

I put my personal domain on the gmail apps system and have no spam issues. No need to pay for that.

Seatbelt laws have proven to be effective. Unbelted persons in large trucks or in a back-seat are that much more likely to end up dead or permanently disabled, which tends to increase the costs of goods and services through litigation, as well as State/Federal Medical-Assistance Programs (like Medicaid), that shell out your tax-dollars to provide care for disabled persons rendered indigent by their disability.

doesn't matter, it is a person's choice to be stupid, make laws saying that the state won't pay for their care and if they don't wear a seatbelt are default an organ donor....

kinda like riding a motorcycle without a helmet.

There are serious Constitutional impediments to your proposed solutions.

I do have to show mine to an LEO in TN if I'm carrying (e.g. "not at work") upon request. We're also trained in our classes here to - if pulled over - tell the officer that "I'm a holder of a carry permit and I am / am not carrying at the moment". The LEO already knows you have a permit if you're pulled over in a car registered in your name; our HCP number is the same as our driver's license number.

Among adults capable of making the decision, I agree. People should have the freedom to be make stupid choices as long as they don't jeopardize my liberties or safety.

* Making them default organ donors - I don't see that as a constitutional issue.

What's wrong with requiring people to do something basic that could save their life?
