Why on earth would you originate in IAH, when you could do SLC-PHX-PHL-SJU (and back) in F for buckets of BD miles? :D

I am really tempted by one of the SLC-SJU runs.

I believe most of their fleet (at least the -700 series) already has overwater equipment for the TPA/FLL/MCO/etc legs over to MSY, HOU, and so forth. As well as BWI - Florida, etc. Though I am not 100% sure on that.

I don't think they have rafts. All they added were life vests so that they could fly more direct routings over the Gulf, instead of hugging the coastline.

I believe all of their aircraft have the vests now.

Upper Deck isn't available?

We have seats reserved on the upper deck, but I was just curious what the best seats were on the lower deck.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

I swear on all that is good and decent.

I located a program management gig I wouldn't mind doing today so I filled out the application this morning. Lo and behold, I got an e-mail from the recruiter a bit ago to set up a phone interview, which I did for tomorrow morning. I'm feeling all jazzed and whatnot and then she replies to confirm, and explains that the position requires Java/J2EE development experience.

I double checked and even searched the job listing and nary a single entry can be found relating to development experience or Java/J2EE. Once again, something that could have been brought to my attention YESTERDAY!

The seats in the upper deck are probably better , but the service downstairs is probably better.

Good lord! This beast just took off from RWY6 @ CLE on its way to EWR and shook the heck out of my house on its low departure climb:

Is the service better even if the upper deck is only 50% full?

I will give you a heads-up if I am going to book one. Likely wouldn't be ready to book one until mid/late September. If that fare isn't around then, there's always a Q-UP from somewhere to SJU.

Photos from the local spotters site from the AN124 arrival yesterday. According to the site, the crew delayed departure so they could stock up at Sam's Club near the airport.

Neat. Can I get to EWR in 55 minutes to see it land? :D Too bad work gets in the way.

Maybe :rolleyes:lov can see it.

I waited too long to book my US Shuttle for tomorrow morning. Fare jumped to full Y. Now flying DL from JFK down and Amtrak home. And I splurged for the F upgrade. Probably not worth it, but it is during dinner time so the food will be nice, and I'll do my best to make up some of the lost value in booze.

What is the normal departure pattern these days when departures are to the North? Is it 6R for departures and 6L or 6C for arrivals, depending on traffic volume, or do they use only one runway for arrivals and departures except during peak times?
