Everyone. No need to be a Box elitist.

In other news, I've been hard at work on the PBC, LLC business plan.

The number of times I'd get a call from technology consulting companies at my old technology consulting firm was ridiculous. I did have fun wasting their time on the cold call, but it certainly was clear that they picked the companies to call based on name, not based on what the company actually does.

Ain't that the truth. 1 page for the visa, 1 for the registration and 1 for the entry exit stamps.

S. Africa requires two blank facing pages correct?

We're thinking about going to South America next year. What are some places that shouldn't be missed? Neither of us has ever been down there.

Fair point, sir. I should have some ideas for dates in a few hours. I'm sitting here, notebook at the ready...8 minutes to go. Everyone has their geek moments in life - this is my annual uber-geek moment.

At least Brazil Visas are valid for 5 years.
Republica Del Paraguay takes up a whole page and is valid for 90 days.

I interned at a small "communications" consultancy (marketing/adv/pr) in college and when the receptionist went out, I was the phone b*tch. Literally every day, in the one hour I'd be responsible for the phones we'd get the same calls.

Argh. People...

CM, I hung out with a couple of friends that live in San Fran and both told me that living costs are relatively reasonable, especially compared to NY - their prior domicile. Although, I need to consider the source. One accidentally resided at a half-way house when she first moved there and was looking for something permanent.

I told her, as a graphic designer living in San Fran, she was just getting ahead of herself. :D

We experienced sticker shock when we moved to the Bay Area from Houston. When looking for houses, we joked about living in a cardboard box under the freeway. We wouldn't have been able to afford a house out here if it wasn't for the relocation benefits. Although, housing prices are decreasing.

I hear ya... although mine was stamped twice in May (MX and UK). I'm starting to think about changing jobs in the fall, so maybe a trip will be in order before that happens.

We have a friend in Abu Dabi right now - may be worth trying to figure out a way to go visit him.

My passport has not been stamped since February! Fortunately, it will get another stamp or 2 this weekend. ^

My biggest pet peeve about passport stamps are the countries that must use really wet ink. They stamp this huge black blob on one page and then close the passport so all of the ink bleeds on to the next page and ruins it. IME, Guatemala is especially guilty of this - they have ruined several pages in my passport.

I only got a brief look at Chile on my Stopover, but the view of the Andes and Santiago on Descent has me chomping at the bit to get back there. There's an excellent Sheraton property in Viña del Mar, right on the coast, with easy access to Chilean Wine Country. I also enjoyed Colonia, in Uruguay, but wouldn't want to spend more than a few days there (not much to do except enjoy the Spa/Environs at the Sheraton there).

Yes, but the stamps/stickers themselves only take up slightly less than half a page.

Dunno where you are getting your Brasilian visas from, but the one I was issued last September was only good for 90 days, and I specifically requested the 5-Year Visa when submitting my application to the Embassy in D.C.

Devils Home Schedule

I'm working on converting that webpage into something postable. In toher news, ATL is away game destination - 10/16. Now I just need something to do for a few hours between flight arrival and game time. I think an early night at the Palm is the way to go for dinner.

I like GRU and GIG. Florianopolis is worth a visit, as well.

That sucks. From what I've heard it's a bit of a crapshoot whether you'll get the 90 day or 5yr version (which cost the same...) Two years ago I received a 5yr visa from the Consulate in NYC. It does state that it's not valid unless first used within 90 days of issuance.
