Very nicely done. There's always NRT-BKK on NW as a backup option, or the CZ/KQ NRT-CAN-BKK option if you need other options, though CO miles cannot be redeemed for KQ. And the all CZ routing might have a forced overnight in CAN.
As an added bonus for me I only had to look up one of the codes (CTS). :D

Wow! I'm impressed, especially if the bride-to-be isn't a FTer. How much time elapses IAH-IAH? All in the pointy end, I hope?

ALCO, this isn't a MR, right, you're actually making stops and enjoying your time together? :)

Screwcap wine is the up and comer...cork is so 1990's.

The Preferred Routing. I really hope I can get the main RTW segments to ticket tomorrow.
If not, I have a back-up Eastbound itinerary in my back pocket, with nearly all availability confirmed as well: IAH-MEX-CDG-TUN(x)-FCO-SVO-BKK(x)-HKT(x)-BKK-ICN-KIX(x)-NRT-TIJ-MEX(x)-IAH Again, reds are separately purchased segments |

Yes, not an MR. Am actually spending the miles I've hoarded for two years to redeem these RTW awards. Some of the (x)'s, like MEX, BKK and AMS are only overnight stopovers. The bulk of the Honeymoon will be spent in CTS, HKT & NCE (Juan Les Pins).

Hrm, the ways of a FT'er. :D
When I went on my honeymoon I was completely clueless about miles and programs, so i valued directness over everything and I ended up not getting any RDM's for a ~12,600 BIS trip (in Y). |

Unfortunately, NW has no availability NRT-BKK within a week either side of the times I would need. So, I'm hoping KE has availability NRT-ICN-BKK (the one airline I can't check availability on for this itin).

It's a little over two weeks door-to-door.

We had a mini honeymoon (weekend after the wedding) that was the PVR F mistake fare so that was MR BLs first FT eye opener. We had a relatively (by FT standards) normal miles and points honeymoon later on ;)

Bummer. There's always CZ as a backup.
Wow...that's quick. With the flying you've got in there that's only ~10-12 days actually being anywhere, right? I felt rushed on our RTW honeymoon with 3.5 weeks (Tuesday to Friday + 3 weeks). |
I'm not sure if someone's already posted this to the CO forum. There's another doom & gloom forecast article out on CNN about airline bankruptcies, this time focusing on the impending arrival of Labor Day and the slower travel season to follow: Bankruptcies loom for airlines. I can see how perceived credit worthiness could affect one/some/all the carriers at the rate the talking heads are spinning things away at the very least.
According to a report on the nation's top airlines released by Fitch Ratings Tuesday, record fuel costs and weak cash flow may lead to "multiple bankruptcies and liquidation" for major U.S. airlines in 2009. ... Fitch said the airlines that will have the most difficult time generating enough revenue to cover rising costs include United (UAUA, Fortune 500), Delta (DAL, Fortune 500), US Airways (LCC, Fortune 500), Southwest (LUV, Fortune 500), and JetBlue (JBLU). American Airlines (AMR, Fortune 500) and Continental (CAL, Fortune 500) were listed as "stable." Not all analysts are sure that bankruptcy is imminent, however. "At some point, air travel will just have to be 20% more expensive," said Schwieterman. "It's not implausible to see the industry in the black."In the meantime, airlines continue to cut back. |

This may be to gauche for the Box, but it's beer related (though Heineken only) and when I saw it during the All Star game thought it was neat. :D
