So a postscript to the damaged drive story: my local guy is going to run a recovery process and also sell me a laptop, with a bunch of software included. It would totally reverse my crankiness over the situation if my guy could get my photos back and be nice enough to install the new Photoshop Elements on the laptop that will likely replace my 6 year old Dell tower.

Question: I'm working under the assumption that I can leave my wireless plugged in, in the house, without a tower plugged into it just to keep wi-fi in the home?

I assume you are referring to your wireless router? If so, then yes you can keep it on without a computer connected.

Does the Terminal A PClub at EWR really have showers? (I'm doubting continental.com here) I'll need to use them on Monday morning and would like to not have to go over to C.

I don't know about the showers, but some CO EX flights are operating from the gate area that AA uses , so you can't even get to the PC.
Also the shuttle between A and C was closed yesterday.

I thought about that. I also thought about taking the PA Turnpike (I-76) to I-81. But, I realized I had a quick stopover in Fairfax, VA. So, that necessitated taking I-66.

What is the deal with that shuttle? I've taken it a couple of times and it's always had issues.

CO should get the current vendor for the IAH buses to do EWR as well. Since First took over IAH's bus operations at A, things there have run a lot more smoothly, and the bus between terminals C, B, and A is pretty reliable.

I was not aware that this was happening. It looks like the flight arrived at the A2 pier yesterday but at the A3 pier today. We'll see if I get lucky... I am guessing CO dos not have any sort of special arrangements for passengers arriving in at the A3 pier that want to use the A PClub or use the shuttle over to C.

They may have some sort of shuttle that brings people from the AA pier to the pier where the PC club is.
There was a CO agent asking pax if they had connections.
I don't know if they were just giving directions to the airtrain or
If they were directing them to a shuttle. It was 730 am when we arrived from YHZ and I was half asleep. They have a jetway setup with stairs so a couple of xjets park and you used one jetway.
It was a bit chaotic trying to exit as another flight was boarding using the same jetway.

ssullivan thats a great idea , suggest it to COinsider.
The IAH shuttle is great.

Switching gears a bit here...

What time did you arrive at YHZ for your flight? I'll be departing YOW at 6:00am and I am trying to figure out how long it will take to clear INS and get through security. Is an hour and a half plenty of time?

Shuttle was closed this morning too. Someone was pointing at the sign and asking a clueless airport employee about it this morning...

Also, just saw the shower room in the Terminal A PClub this morning...I too was wondering if it was real...good to know!

Flight was at 6:35 , I got there at 5:20 ish . I returned my Avis key in a drop box and had plenty of time.
only CO and AA had early flights so security and passport control were empty.

Indeed, thanks. Just wanted confirmation. The router will soon have to learn how to live without any friends nearby.

What's the status on the proposed MLK-Day 2009 Brussels Box DO? Are we still planning on getting silly drunk in Belgium in January?

^^^^

I might even be +1. We were at our local Belgian restaurant on Saturday and sitting in front of a poster for a brouerij and I think I may have convinced her it is a good idea to go. Are there any breweries in Luxembourg? It'd be nice to cross that country off if we're in the area. :D

I'm still willing to be the organizer for the event. This definitely is on my list of things to look in to and put together. I should be posting something here in the CO forum in the next few weeks. If anyone has input feel free to PM me.
