Thanks for all the encouraging words. I'll be managing a research lab at UCLA. I used to work for my soon-to-be-boss here at Baylor Medical School a few years ago.

I was thinking that I may be doing oneworld more, as CX flies LAX-HKG 3x daily. But their prices are not cheap. I may just fly whatever the cheapest, and sample the various one-stop possibilities, whether it's UA or SQ via SFO; NW, JL or NH via NRT; BR or CI via TPE; or KE or OZ via ICN.

Between LA and Houston, it'll be CO or WN.

Anyways, I'll still be here in The Box! :)

Funny, I was just thinking about the same!

Or if one of you can set up a "meeting" at the PC, I won't mind parking and going through security. :)

Congrats rkkwan! Best of luck to you with your move and your new job!

In other news - it doesn't look like YUL is going to a continental.com special this weekend, so the visit to an aloft property may have to wait until next month. :( Now, I just need to figure out where else I can go this weekend...

It seems every time I am in Halifax , it is raining and or cloudy ,
I have only been here in winter and fall , but today in summer "The best time to visit" according to everyone, it is foggy
and rainy. I could barely see the water from my hotel.
CO latest flight out of here today was at 3:15 which I could not make.
Im on a noonish flight home tomorrow but Im afraid the bad weather here will cause a problem.
The other option is the 6:35 AM flight to EWR tomorrow morning.
and oh yeah I almost forgot
I was sent to a secondary interview after going thru Immigration that almost caused me to miss my meeting.
They were not too thrilled that I was coming to Canada for a meeting and asked me about all the stamps on my passport .

Better than my last experience in Halifax ... food poisoning.

Tentatively, I have crossed another item off of my life to-do list: my ticket guy says he's holding Eagles tickets for me for Thursday night. They did not arrive in my ticket shipment/commission FedEx this morning. He's never let me down before, and the sales for the shows are uber-depressing. (With the first 10 rows at $501/seat - ...but the upside to that is that it's a 2200-seat room.)

Congrats, rkkwan! Yet another excuse to visit L.A. :D

Also, thanks to PBC LLC for all the Arkansas tips. I think I may head up there sometime soon for a look-see.

He can try, but it would take a lot to beat me there. My list of small airports is growing monthly. In June it was ABI and BTR, but that's debatable since it still has mainline service from more than one airline at the moment. In July it's DRT. In August I add CHA. And in September, LIT. And there's a slight chance I'll sneak SJT in there before CO shuts down that service at the beginning of October.

I may still try and work VCT and CLL into some non-work trips back to Texas later this year, just for the fun of it.

Congrats, rkkwan.

We may need you to arrange LAX mini Do. :D

COFlyerCLE Jul 14, 2008 5:33 pm

Congrats, rkkwan.

I'd be up for an LAX DO. Or one in Laguna Beach :)
