And now, because even though it's Saturday night, I still have this kind of time on my hands: the next potentially insane ConciergeMike golf outing, presented in cooperation with PBC, LLC:

IND - Brickyard Crossing Golf Course

4 of the 18 holes are in the infield of Indy Motor Speedway, and the peak greens fee is $90, GPS included. :D

Google: IND to Hilton to course...total drive: less than 20 miles. ^

This is going in my "Thu/Fri/Sat off and nothing to do" file.

How long did you wait in line? :) I'm still holding out until the lines die down...

EDIT: There are some great apps in the Apps Store - at least I get to enjoy those!

We waited around 1.5 hours but it wasn't too bad. I didn't like the in-store activation but overall I was impressed with how smooth it went.

I'm loving BlackBerry's new OS. Of course it's still beta software, and as such has it's bugs. But the new look of the e-mail and calendar applications is great, I love having the ability to view HTML messages, and I can now download and edit MS Office e-mail attachments (before it was view only).

My biggest complaint is that the upgrade has rendered my corporate e-mail inoperable on the BlackBerry. Personal e-mail works fine, but my work e-mail is dead. I may have to call our IT people and play dumb, because I'm sure if they find out I've installed beta software on my handset they'll tell me to uninstall everything and restore from my backup to the old OS. :(

Is there a BlackBerry 101 of some kind that I can check out? I'm interested but want to learn more before I commit to switching to it from a conventional phone.

Update from the children's book author: apparently the literary me will work in an Egyptian-themed hotel, also be blond and blue-eyed, and end up becoming a suspect in the murders that the Hardys are investigating due to his acidic wit with hotel guests. (I'll let The Box run hogwild with that last one.)

Friday Night after the theater my gf and I ate diagonally across the street from the Apple store on 9th Ave and 14th St. The line of people waiting looked pretty long around 11 pm.

In other news , I would like to thank now tropical storm Bertha for providing nice waves for surfing the last few days . Although there was some damage to one of my surfboards yesterday which I now have to fix.

If you want it to work with the BES you're going to either have to convince them to upgrade the server to the supported version or downgrade back to the older version. There are definitely compatibility issues between the new handheld OS and some of the older server versions.

Hmmm... well it was working last night. I had the new OS up and running on my handheld and was getting messages sent through our BES at work. This morning I realized I had a really old version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager on my computer, so I upgraded that. And that's when I lost my Enterprise Activation on the handheld. I'm going to start with seeing if work will just send me a new activation code for my handheld, because right now that's what my device seems to be missing.

I can't believe I'm staying in a major brand hotel in a major city and its sans wi-fi. ... it's okay though, they're charging me for the gym.

Air travel back home (NYC-IAH) has officially lost all appeal to me as of tonight. Looks like there was another fare hike this weekend that hopefully wont last long. I was going to book my ticket home for christmas and the fare came up at $475 a/i. I did a few more searches and it looks like its priced that way through the end of schedule. Up until now I was making the trip home to see the fiance about once a month but now it looks like it will be better for me to either burn miles or find an alternative city that would be cheaper to fly into. I also did a quick Kayak seach and it looks like all the airlines are pricing out in the mid to high $400 range.:(

I got Dec. 22-25 EWR-FLL for $219 A/I. What's going to be fun is the first trip of 2009...it's either going to be MHT, MSY, or MDW. If the pricing stays as insane as it is now, I might end up on WN. I'm not opposed to trying them, but I grew up flying CO and feel kinda odd elsewhere.

Musings from a 3 day weekend. Flew to LIT on an RJ (I HATE RJs). Got Rental car from Avis (I HATE Avis). Avis' computer's were down. Time to get Avis car (as a preferred member) 1 hour, 20 minutes. Drove to hotel. Stopped for dinner. Looking through menu - hmm, where is the bar menu. IN A DRY TOWN!!! There is no bar menu. Arrive at hotel where I'd booked a suite - hotel is fully booked for the weekend. The hotel has a nice mold/mildew area because the jacuzzi in the room shoots water because the sign doesn't tell you the button is screwed up. GPS doesn't work in the area. Hillbillies abound. Wedding was nice. Twirled my daughter dancing; broke a bone in my foot (hmm, let's see that's how I first broke my ankle, how do I not learn). Fun weekend though. Hotel was not part of any hotel program I belong to despite being outrageously expensive for AR. That pains me.

Back the box topic, CM, the Indy course is pretty cool. I haven't played it, but have seen it and it is one of the 100 courses you should play in your lifetime.

And the apple store in dry town had 15 employees standing around with no customers. THAT would have been the place to get your iphone!

Wow, baglady, sounds like just about everything that could have gone wrong did! Sorry to hear about the foot; hope it heals quickly.

Where in Arkansas were you? I get the pleasure of heading up there for work in a couple of months.
