I have an extra 212 number that I am going to cancel in the next few months. If you can figure out how to get it, I will cooperate fully since I would hate to see it go to some arriviste.

It is easy to port one to a cellphone, but I don't know how you would do it to Google Voice.

I don't know if I should be happy or concerned that the route to my heart has been discovered: My +1 has been looking at security systems and I told her to pick what she wanted and we'd go for it. I got an email today stating:

I think I want to go with Brinks; they're now called Broadview Security. Do you get miles if we sign up with them?

I never thought she'd understand.

Soooooooooo glad you fought off the desire!

We have two cats. We 'adopted' them from a Vet who was pleading for people to take the last two abandoned kittens. My daughters pleaded with me to let them have them. In a moment of weakness I said yes...:rolleyes: Sigh. They are only 2 years old. I guess I have a long way to go with them. Given that my eldest will be leaving for college in two years .... hmmmm. @:-)@:-) maybe she can take her cat with her. Good idea, Batman! @:-)

I must be behind b/c I'd never heard of this before. Can anyone send me an invite or do I have to give Google my address & wait, as they say online?

I don't see any way of sending an invite, so I believe you need to register and wait.

I'm not sure, but beware. Brinks or whatever it is called has a security system that is proprietary. I am not 100% sure on this. I may be wrong.. it could be ADT. However, pretty much all other security systems are good. We have one from this local company (and so far, so good), and if we wanted to switch, it would not be a big deal to switch. All the equipment would work with pretty much any other security company. You may want to do some research first.

Why do we need a new thread every time there is bad weather around EWR?

If someone hasn't claimed it already, i would be more than willing to take it off your hands and port it to a voip line. :)

Thanks for the warning! Our house is already wired for the system, so it's just a matter of having the service activated (and maybe 2 new keypads since the old ones are definitely old). We'll have to see who is compatible with all of our hardware and go from there. I appreciate the head's up.

You don't want a 646 number? It's just like 212 except they multiplied every number by 3… and added 1 to the middle number.
