For all the good things I've heard about AC's product, one has to wonder if they will be around at the end of the year. It would be nice to get more miles and new lines/dots by using AC, but conversely that is quite the chunk of change. As a B-fare Plat, your chances of clearing are quite good.

Never mind, you meant intra-Canadia.

What Would The B:rolleyes:x Do?????
I now have the opportunity to go to HKG in the fall. It is not set in stone yet, but it is looking good. I cannot seem to figure out what I should do. 1. Redeem 60K/$40 OnePass miles for a reward ticket in economy  2. Purchase an economy ticket for $825 +$1,000 + 50K miles and pray the upgrade clears 3. Purchase a B fare for $ 1,600 +$200+50K miles and pray the upgrade clears 4. I am also strongly considering working a ton of overtime and just purchasing a business class ticket on AC for roughly $3,200 but I just feel I could put $3,200 to better use. I really don't want to fly economy again for that flight. I guess I could wait until I get closer to the dates and see if an upgrade is available and then purchase the B fare, but I don't want to run the risk purchasing a B fare and sitting in economy. I do not need the EQM’s because I will make plat after NRT, which would be after this trip. Is the trip before or after 24 October 2009? |

I'd eliminate #1 because it would be uncomfortable and #2 because it's less economical than #3.

Interesting - why didn't you like Kauai?
I know alot has changed on Kauai but since I am not a stay-only-at-the-resort kind of girl and I've seen enough Hawaiian mountains and water falls to last a lifetime, I find the other islands more enjoyable. |

Everything was dirty, dusty and old. The hotels were crappy and the locals were too local, as in you are not from here so go away.

Is the trip before or after 24 October 2009? When I do a search from LGA I get NW and DL for the saverpass in business , but it shows economy on the confirmation page  |

I've been to the Jersey Shore once. I was shocked that you had to pay to use the beach since all beaches in Hawaii belong to the State, with free public access. The house we stayed in was old and everything was sandy.

Agreed. It's down to #3 or #4. The Alliance switch doesn't have that much to do with it in his case...he's got Plat locked up, so he would be LFM padding. (Not that there's anything wrong with that...) It would be great to get usable miles for a trip that long, but if the CO/AC bilateral is not done by the time he books, there's no telling what he will get.
