Pick the 744 only if you haven't done the upper deck.

What if the 744 got you home 4 hours earlier with one less connection? The FM geek inside wants the new type (332), new dot and 2 new lines but if there is little difference between the 744 and 332, I almost have to go with the more convenient option.

Either is good. I like 73AB on the 744. If there were no upper deck seats, I might be more inclined to take the 332.

73AB are open so I think I might call to make the switch. I'm trading NRT-SFO-MEM-EWR for NRT-DTW-EWR.

I just need to decide if I should go with the 1:35 or 3:25 connection in DTW.

Thanks, everyone, for the feedback.

I would go for the 1:35, there really isn't anything to do in DTW. The WBC seats are narrower on the 744 than the 332. Also there are showers in the DTW worldclub, excuse me skyclub.

Yes, convenience. I'm not a line guy, but would rather collect dots. :D:rolleyes: and a dot doesn't count much if you never exit the airport, so I'd go with whatever gets you there faster, all other things being equal.

I would go with the 744. Longer ride in a nicer cabin and the DTW-EWR flight is a quick hop.

MEM is a dump. 332s will be around for a while, the 744s seem to be becoming a rare bird.

A. I actually agree with colpuck in that DTW does blow - getting a Popeye's (to open shortly) is going to be a vast improvement in terminal food.
B. You'll have access to the DL SkyClub returning on a "same-day" international flight.

I disagree here - very nice SkyClub plus Interstate ^ and/or Corky's (OK) for those BBQ inclined.

Unfortunately, the agent was unable to see 2 F seats on the earlier flight, so we are on the 3+ hour connection for now.

This brings us up to 4 rides on a 744 for the honeymoon. :D

Interstate is good, but the skyclub lacks showers. MEM is my favorite airport for domestic connections, but I am not a big fan of it for international connections of any kind.

It's not a bad airport, but it desperately needs a refurbishment.

Every time I am there I feel like i'm walking around an old 70s fallout shelter.

I'm also sad that the Baskin Robbins is gone. :(

He would already be flying through the shower-less NRT and SFO before MEM. And I connect at any SkyTeam hub except ATL/EWR unless the pricing forces me to go there (like en route to LAS).

After flying out of DCA's old terminal (1950's fallout shelter with no food), MEM is brilliant!

Change complete. For some reason, I am booked in to C (BusinessElite) on the NRT-DTW segment and she is booked in to D (World Business Class). Hopefully that doesn't cause any problems...

Now, a FM question - should I now enter "Delta Connection (Compass Airlines)" on a segment that I would normally list as "Northwest Connection (Compass Airlines)"? I feel like this is falsifying an additional carrier...

Have a great time!! Billy Joel at MSG was my first concert when I was like 12....I actually decided to become a drummer after watching Liberty DeVito.

Back when we started the quest to find a property to buy a few years ago all we could afford were condos/townhomes. With the plunging home values and lowering interest rates, when we finally pulled the trigger our budget had us between a 2 bedroom condo right on the Hudson river (spectacular) or a single-family home.

We opted for the single family home for the following reasons:
  • We have privacy.
  • We will never hear our neighbors.
  • We will never have to smell what are neighbors are having for supper.
  • Homes hold their value better than condos/townhomes.
  • We can slowly upgrade the house (do things like finish the basement, to add substantial value).
  • I can grill.
  • We can invite people over and never have to worry about being inconsiderate to our neighbors.
  • No maintenance fees / common charges

After doing apartment living for the past decade I'm not regretting going the single-family route. Did I  last night when I went home, mowed the lawn and then did some work on the patio? Absolutely. But it's mine. Well, it's Wells Fargo's, but in 30 years it will be mine. And I'll never have to hear my ugly neighbors having sex again.

I'd have to disagree with your list when it comes to townhouses. I live in a townhouse and I:
  • Have all the privacy I want/need.
  • Never hear a peep from my neighbors.
  • Have never smelled anything my neighbors are cooking.
  • Have seen values in my neghborhood do quite well.
  • Finished my basement and am about to do hardwood floors, etc.
  • Have a patio I can grill on.
  • Have had dozens of full-volume band rehersals in my basement without a complaint from my neighbors.
  • Pay a maintenence fee but never have to shovel, mow, or rake and just had my parking lot and all the streets paved.

I would say it depends on if it is truly a Delta Connection carrier by then or not. If it's still a NW carrier, then I would stick with the NW designation.
