Just woke up from a nap. Father-in-law's surgery went well and he's resting in ICU now. We're getting ready to go enjoy some additional 103 degree PHX heat and head back over to the hospital for a visit. Thanks again to everyone for the kind thoughts and words.

One thing I've concluded about that thread is that there must be some rule that everyone must take this photo when in Vegas.

Aloha from HNL and the Hyatt!
This is a surprisingly big hotel with lots of shopping and such. The elevators look like mini thai food restaurants with the wood paneling and lighting fixtures. So, 10 hour flight in Y - i still cant feel my butt. Hawaii (Waikiki at least) is a LOT like Orlando. The airport smells like the Polynesian resort at Walt Disney World for reasons unknown. I told my friends who i ditched for this psuedo-MR (they were doing WDW today) that it's like the Polynesian Resort threw up on Vegas with lots of Japanese tourists. I wandered the area immediately around the hotel and now i should be crawling into bed soon to get up extra-early to try and make the most of my daylight hours. Oh, most interesting bit of the flight was crazy turbulence over Nebraska. I actually felt like I was back in one of those flight simulator rides - it was a definite nose-downward dash through some really rough pockets. Best way i can think to describe it is like being on taboggan going downhill and bouncing off the snow - you careen left and right and bounce back up and then down suddenly. Was surprising to say the least. It was the only time i can recal in a plane that i could feel the forward and downward motion. |
Didn't notice this sbm12 thread before:

If anyone that has friends/connections in the oil business knows an exporter who would like to be introduced to an importer that wants to bring Pennzoil and Quaker State to central Europe, please advise. I was driven to and from Keukenhof Gardens today by my mother's client's nephew, who runs an import company and would very much like those brands in this area. Morning, Box. |

Hola box.
Returned from ABQ for the last time in the foreseeable future (probably a month ). Flight was early coming into IAH yesterday and I was able to grab the last seat on the 762 to EWR. Unfortunately, that last seat was in back, but I was very grateful to be home 2 hours earlier. ^ I'm way behind on the Box. Sorry. I'll do my best to get caught up today. Hopefully there's no 's in my inbox. Oh, and in non Hugh Laurie house news. Got FiOS installed yesterday (^) and my first night with TV and non-stolen from neighbors with unsecured networks intertubes, we sat out on the back deck and grilled a pizza. Perfect. :D |
