Oooh...I better start posting here more. I want in!

You are fine. I just don't want to deal with the yuck of an official 'Do.

SBM12, youve been attacked in the TPA to close call center thread.

Thankfully I'm well versed in awkward moments. "I wish, I wish, I hadn't sat on that fish."

I had a similar situation occur on the  Shuttle between LGA and DCA a few years ago, except it was a board member of our company. He's based in the EU so I knew he didn't have a F BP.

I went up to the GA and asked to be downgraded and she looked at me and said "oh, this will be good" and I explained what was going on. She asked what the gentleman's name was and EUA'ed him as my companion. When he asked why he was being upgraded she lied and said that there was a note in the computer that he was flying on company business and that  airlines appreciated our business and that we were "great customers."

She got a fistful of A+B certs in addition to Dunkin' every time I ran into her after that.

Wow, for a moment I almost missed US. ... almost.

I will most likely do it around an Indians home stand in July or August. June is tough due to the NBA finals, Fathers Day, graduations and the like.

Sounds great!

And that's my reason for posting Shogun pre-game here and not on the main thread.

Curse. Wrong thread.

Nothing to see here.

My instincts tell me that CO looked long and hard at this decision as they have always been proud of their customer service in this regard. Yes, as channa loves to point out, the agents often need more training and empowerment but I think they are still better than most other airlines.

World Cocktail Day, anyone? :)

Always amazing how some people choose to interpret a post. Clearly I am a heartless SOB because I didn't immediately excoriate CO for closing a call center or express sufficient angst at the loss of jobs.

I rarely pay attention to which of the three call centers I am dealing with and don't really care. They are all generally quite good and provide the service I've come to expect from CO. If things move offshore I'll reconsider, but for now it really is just a matter of them not needing the jobs filled and there isn't anything we can do about that. CO has done a phenomenal job of driving business to their lowest cost distribution channel - co.com. Life happens.

I'd be up for making it to an Indians game in July. I get Fridays off during the summer, so weekends work best, but if weekday is easier to schedule, I can take a day off.

I was going to post something about that post, but it's not worth it. Some employees need to remember that this is a frequent flier website, not a CO fan forum.

I would make it a weekend so it would be easier for all. Something fun Friday evening, an event of some sort on Saturday, a nice dinner on Saturday night (maybe another wine dinner - that was a ton of fun), and the day game on Sunday.
