If you check in online and then just go to Mr Chicken to reprint your BP , then yes. ( Im assuming you are connecting to UA from CO)

Yes, that would be sufficient time, unless the GRU-EWR flight is delayed.

I just noticed that rkkwan is also a hemispheriphobe. No S. Hemisphere lines on the FlightMemory. You and fozz should start a support group.

Things would have to be pretty messed up for that flight to be late into EWR (ie. some weather issue state-side), but then other flights would probably be delayed, as well. Good luck at the Braz. Consulate, fozz!

Yep. We're rooting for him. Once you discover that the Southern Hemisphere is full of Oompa Loompas and Unicorns, it's hard not to go back.

I'm still patiently waiting for your "Wizard of Fozz from the Penalty Box" introduction. There's also my "Author of You: Don't Be a Tool, Dr. Mehmet Fozz" that could be used.

You should see the animal market in Jakarta with dozens of cats and guinea pigs, as well as many other animals, for sale (and not to be used as pets, either - think stew). I did not know that cats panted when hot until I saw this market. Also for sale are monkeys, exotic birds, venomous snakes, and other reptiles.

So as I am broke I am using the credit that I do have to get money out of the airlines. morals and ethics aside, I am now getting my karmatic revenge.
Called DL refund desk (I have them on speed dial) to refund ticket. Agent: Mr. Colpuck I see you have flown this ticket. Me: excuse me? Agent: yes you flew this flight yesterday Me: I decidedly did not. Agent: well you need to go to the airport and explain that to them. Me: ok (drives to airport) Me: My ticket shows I flown this flight, but I am here. I would like a refund Airport Agent: the computer says you have flown the ticket and I can not change it. Me: The refund agent told me to come here. Agent: you need to call customer care. (leaves airport) (calls customer care, also on speed dial) Me: Explains issue, explains desire for refund Agent: The flight was yesterday? Me: yes Agent: The flight shows flown Is there any else I can help you with today (clearly expecting a no response) Me: Yes I would like a refund Agent: ...Let me get my supervisor (Waits) Agent: sir. the flight shows that you flew the ticket Me: I was not on the flight Agent: let me connect you to the refund desk Me: been there done that, can't do anything Agent: well you need to go to the airport then Me: been there done that, Agent: well that's what you have to do. Me: Thank you (calls Mastercard) Me: I would like to file a dispute against the airline. |

I'm wondering if there's an airport more dismal than GRU to be stuck in for a prolonged period without lounge access. At least when it has served out its useful life, they can convert it into a supermax prison with little effort.

I'll be awaiting your report on the experience as I'm going to be repeating the journey in just a couple weeks. And I have nothing booked except the EWR-BZE air. I should get on the hotel bookings, I think.
What is your rouring on AA on the return, a 5 hour connect in MIA or the overnight in DFW? I will try to collect all my thoughts/experiences tonight if it's not very busy and get them up for you to review. |
