I was on a TAM flight at GIG where the passengers nearly rioted because they kept switching aircraft for mechanical reasons, causing a nearly three-hour delay and me to fear missing my connecting CO flight in GRU. They boarded us onto one aircraft, made us deplane, bussed us out to another aircraft at a remote stand, boarded us again, then sent us back to the original aircraft at the end of the fiasco. :rolleyes:

Never mind. Not worth the :rolleyes: it would cause for what I originally wrote.

Called DL refund desk (I have them on speed dial) to refund ticket.
Agent: Mr. Colpuck I see you have flown this ticket.
Me: excuse me?
Agent: yes you flew this flight yesterday
Me: I decidedly did not.
Agent: well you need to go to the airport and explain that to them.
Me: ok

(drives to airport)

Me: My ticket shows I flown this flight, but I am here. I would like a refund
Airport Agent: the computer says you have flown the ticket and I can not change it.
Me: The refund agent told me to come here.
Agent: you need to call customer care.

(leaves airport)
(calls customer care, also on speed dial)

Me: Explains issue, explains desire for refund
Agent: The flight was yesterday?
Me: yes
Agent: The flight shows flown Is there any else I can help you with today (clearly expecting a no response)
Me: Yes I would like a refund
Agent: ...Let me get my supervisor

(Waits)

Agent: sir. the flight shows that you flew the ticket
Me: I was not on the flight
Agent: let me connect you to the refund desk
Me: been there done that, can't do anything
Agent: well you need to go to the airport then
Me: been there done that,
Agent: well that's what you have to do.
Me: Thank you

(calls Mastercard)

Me: I would like to file a dispute against the airline.

I'm too tired to type out some backhanded set of coded phrases that would explain what I really think. I can be good at that kind of thing if I try...while on the phone with my mother from both Saudi and Qatar, I found ways to get around the automatic phrase sniffing software that listened for violations concerning security related to our ride home. Without the software picking up on me, I got her to understand where we were coming from, via, and to, and on what date and time. I also did this on the secure .mil email server and I didn't get chewed out over the content of those emails because they contained references that only she would understand. Long story short, I managed to defeat THIS.

I do need a new tripod after I broke the head of the better of the two I have. Hmmmm $500, that sounds like a bargin to me. :rolleyes:

When/how long are you going and is your wife joining you or are you going alone?

What is your rouring on AA on the return, a 5 hour connect in MIA or the overnight in DFW?
