hmm 5day upgrades start clearing today on a flight I am waitlisted on. Do the waitlist saverpass reward seats come out of the same bucket as EUAs?

So do you think any spotters caught AF1 on approach in to Baghdad this afternoon? :)

I wonder if they still have the spiral down approach procedure. That would be pretty wild in a 747.

It wasn't all that exciting in a DC-10. The crew did a great job of not making it feel like a spiral.

World did the first one, and Omni the second.

Trip 1:
ACY-BWI (US) // BWI-SNN-FRA-NIC-CAI-Kuwait-Saudi // Saudi-FRA-SNN-BWI

Trip 2:
ACY-FRA-Kuwait-Qatar // Qatar-FRA-BGR-ACY

Before my vision started going south in high-school, I was going to apply to the Air Force and/or Naval Academy (wanted to be a pilot). Awesome FlightMemory lines on Uncle Sam's dime. How does one program a Nimitz Class Nuclear Supercarrier into FM, anyhow? :D

Looks like the Tar Heels just got off a DL MadDog at RDU. What sports charters does DL not have under contract? Seems like they do almost all of them.

You should have been ahead of all EUA's as a waitlisted saverpass passenger. Call them and see what is going on.

I wanted to be a pilot too, but then I discovered that I could say the line "I build bombs" without the FBI coming after me. Playing with explosives is pretty cool in its own right. :D

Uncle Sam also gave me PHL-STL-SAT and back, along with PHL-STL-DFW-SPS and back. Lackland and Sheppard AFB respectively; Basic and bomb school.

I nearly made application to the Merchant Marine Academy in Great Neck, Long Island (now defunct, IIRC). For a time, I flirted with the idea of being a cruise ship captain. A Princess Cruise Lines captain disabused me of that notion (apparently the reality of starting out in the Merchant Marine is altogether different from what might imagine it's like).

Also, apparently, most of the major cruise lines only hire Italians, Norwegians and Danes as captains. Dunno if that has changed in the past decade, but I can't recall ever stepping on a ship and hearing an American (or even British, for that matter... perhaps on Cunard, if at all) accent over the intercom.

Not defunct, they're still there. I spent a year across the river at SUNY Maritime. It was the :D of times and the  of times. I was able to get my mug cruise in, though. ^ That was great.

It looks like DL decided to take on CO on the FRA fare, at least out of CLE. $389 all in at the moment for a FRI-SUN trip.
