We have tons of Brits in Palm Beach county...

Not to mention avoiding LHR. How I miss LGW. :(

T-5 is nice. But, personally, it's over-hyped. Out of the recent airports built that come to memory, I think DTW is far nicer. But LHR is a beast and a pain all around. Obviously they've made some improvements, but it's still LHR.

LGW was such a breeze. LCY is supposed to be a walk in the park, though I have yet to fly out of there. Plus LCY is so close to the city and bloody convenient.

I'm not sure how BA survives by splitting it's flights across multiple terminals at LHR when none of the terminals are in close proximity to each other and there is no monorail/train to get you from one to the other. People complain about the Terminal A/B/C game at EWR, it's nothing compared to BA at LHR.

LAX-ATL?
LAX-MSP?
LAX-DTW?
LAX-MKE?

I'm leaning towards LAX-ATL...

Tend to agree. It fills out the bottom portion of the domestic map nicely. LAX-MSP would be a good second choice, IMO.

Agreed. You need a line down south...visual balance, I say.

My exact thoughts. ^

Without a FlightMemory, we can't really advise you properly regarding which lines would look spiffiest.

Not complete given all of my flying as a child, but pretty good none the less:

My one experience MAN-LCY-AMS was quite pleasant. BHD and BRS are also nice little airports.

It is not worth it, IMO. LHR is not even that much of a trek from the City (financial district) compared to LCY. LCY is about a 30 minute ride on the Docklands Light Railway from Bank Tube Station in the City, whereas LHR is a 15 minute ride on the Heathrow Express or a 25 minute ride on the Heathrow Connect from Paddington, which can be reached on the Tube from various City tube stops in about 25 minutes or in less time than that by cab (unless it is the middle of rush hour). The travel times are reduced, of course, if one takes a cab from the City to either of the airports, unless it is the middle of rush hour. Thus, I don't think the 15-20 minute time savings of going to LCY is worth a 45 minute fuel stop in SNN, especially since the traveler would have access to priority security and immigration lines at LHR.

If the LCY flights to the US were nonstop, then it might be worth it. The fact is that LCY really is not as close to the City as people think it is. Take a look at a map and see how far it is from the City.

I was going to suggest SAN - ATL, it's a somewhat nicer angle.

My grandmother's house is maybe 1,000 yards from the southern Broward/Palm Beach border (Deerfield Beach), and I don't see Brits that far south. Not saying you're wrong, but they probably stick to the Palm Beaches themselves. Deerfield Beach might as well be nicknamed Little Toronto. Canadians everywhere.

He and fozz need to go on a Southern Hemisphere MR together.

So with all the talk with J Edwards SYD runs. Is it insane to consider LHR-SFO-HNL-LAX-SYD-SFO-HNL-LAX-LHR?

The fare in MR seems tempting and since it's a W, I can SWU it.
