Years ago I stayed at a Holiday Inn in Columbus, OH that experienced a power outage.
There is no place darker than a bathroom inside a room with no outside windows. (It was one of those properties converted to a Holi-dome) Had to feel my way around to find a towel to dry off. Then, feel my way out of the bathroom, feel my way to my suitcase and get dressed in total darkness. (and hope I had the right color socks on) Managed to find the door leading to the hallway only to find the emergency lighting wasn't working.:rolleyes: Finally found my way to an exit negotiating a stairwell in the process.
If something like that happened today, I could at least use the small amount of light from my cell phone to get around.

During the blackout of 03 the Marriott Marquis in Times Square set-up cots in their parking garage.

Their key card system apparently didn't have a battery back-up. Or, at least, a functioning battery back-up. :rolleyes:

Embassy Suites is one place I have not seen the coffeepot in the bathroom, but that's to be expected in a kitchenette-style room.

I see your plea and would like to counter: "boy, wouldn't it be nice if CO matched B6's 34 - 36" pitch in Y?"

CM, I'd be seriously worried if I was staying at a "suite" hotel that had the coffee maker in the bano.

They might - one never knows.

Has anyone tried the 1st class sleeper airline pillow? I'm thinking of getting one. Also, does anyone have the SkyMall 15 points/$ coupon code? They have the same price as everyone else and I might as well earn more miles...

Agreed...but many industry people have also told me that room coffeepots should never be used anyway.

After a review of our ever-full calendar I'm proposing that we hold the NJ Box-BBQ-D:rolleyes: at Big Ed's BBQ in Old Bridge on Saturday March 28, 2009.

As a former hotel employee I'm honestly surprised I can suppress the urge to wear one of these whilst staying in a hotel. Whatever doesn't kill us makes us :rolleyes:er.
