I just can't help but wonder what will happen when it all comes crashing down and the cow stops giving the milk.

I wholly disagree. These were legit upgrades given out as they should have been. The "extra mile" part of blocking the seat was icing on the cake. CO cannot do that often because the cabin is usually already full at that point.

As for having the upgrade pushed through in advance, I have had it happen with CO but it has been a while.

Yes, and thoroughly enjoyed it!^

I told my fiancee to go home tonight and watch the pilot online - she's not been watching and I'm trying to get her to start.

I don't think UA was giving away the store on that one because the OP and companion were using instruments to upgrade their segments (unless you count SWU's as giving away the store and the OP was using a SWU). This would be no different from someone receiving a companion upgrade on CO or being waitlisted for a mileage upgrade at the gate.

Apologies - didn't know that Bliss was using an instrument. :o

Great pictures Seth. Everytime I look at your pictures it makes me want to buy a nice camera.

Listen to the UA folks here it gives you a nice impression, but they're 1k. I wonder what it's like for Tin. What UA seems to have that CO only has in a blue moon are some good MR/fun run/mistake fares. :D:rolleyes: Maybe that and an E+ buy up will get me to try them after the alliance switch.

I hear *A has the opportunity for mileage upgrades, but I wonder if they're the craptastic buy full Y nonsense that is in SkyTeam.

Take a dump in a box, wrap it in some nice giftwrap and put a bow on it, then give it to yourself. You'll start getting the picture.

That, ladies and germs, is your Box daily poop quota!

I agree. It also makes me want to take a trip somewhere, anywhere.

When are they going to start posting the DEQMs? I'm dying to see my EQMs rocket skywards towards platinum after my two cross country MRs last week. :D:D

Probably. I don't see myself switching my habits anytime soon, at least not until a massive list of personal and financial details are taken care of. While I'd love to do Q-UP's as much as the next guy and credit them to LH for 300%, that is a long way off for me. And yeah, life as a 1K is probably pretty sweet most of the time, with nice green grass. But vividly green grass is usually achieved by using an inordinate amount of fertilizer.

Significant bliss was waitlisted for an upgrade. I asked the agent if she could put a note in the PNR so we could sit together if the upgrade cleared. The station manager at LHR came over and blocked the business seat next to me and wrote me a note to bring it to the gate agent ^

At ORD RCC, significant bliss was also waitlisted for the domestic upgrade to LAX. I also asked the agent if she could put a note in the PNR so we could sit together if the upgrade cleared. She replied, ohhh, there are still plenty of seats in F and since you are an 1K, I'll just clear you into F right now. ^ If only a PC agent would ever do that ;)

Hmm - the new DL/NW FA uniforms are pretty nice. A big ^ to both of the red dresses - 1 2 - quite classy IMO.

They are nice. They're just the same thing DL has had; NW is getting them now. You'll rarely see the red dresses though. They're cut a little tighter and fit in such a way that most women can't wear them very well. The color also doesn't work on some people. But I do occassionally see a red dress walking through ATL. Have yet to be on a DL flight where a FA was wearing it.

Oops - you're right, they're just new to NW.

Have you seen any FAs wearing the hat? :)

I had the hat wearers on my EZE-JFK flight, the one FA who was wearing a hat laughed at me when I did the
Smoking is NOT Allowed impression while the safety video was on ( BTW in BE they have to do manual safety demo while the main cabin gets the video, so you could hear it but not see it , since there are no overhead video monitors)
