He also mentioned a downgauge at some point too. How one would downgauge from Y- is hard to imagine. Did they paint his name on a cargo container?

A domestic 763 to an international 763 is a downgauge since there are a lot fewer seats on the intl configs.

I thought some of the EU carriers were the same way. Though I can't remember who i'm thinking of.

Doesn't AZ have actual domestic F type seating on some of its MD-80s? SU also has dedicated seats for its premium cabins on narrow-bodies, as does BD (on select aircraft). IIRC, LH also has dedicated premium seats on its A300s.

Yep. It's in SA's funky 2-3 Domestic F on the 738.

Not quite the amrerican 2-2 standard, but not the BSness of Europe's 3-3. It is like a mullet, business in the front party in the back.

Most of the EU carriers keep the same Y seats for J/F, but leave the middles empty. Some have the ability to move the armrests to expand the seats a bit.

EU F is way

Okay, I am a bit stressed over some things, so I am now putting my energy in to creative ways to get from SNA to LAS next Thursday. Sure, I could take US Scareways for $70 and finally use my BD Diamond card, but I have the luxury of time given that I arrive in SNA at 11:00 after taking the oh dark thirty arse crack of dawn flight from CLE via IAH for $110.

From SNA, your only options are US or WN.

But, if you have time, you could always drive and visit xyzzy's cousins here.

BD does have some a320's with 2-2 seating with manual footrests and more pitch than the the US standard.

I was on an AZ MD80 last year and it did not have dedicated F seats, but that doesn't mean that they did not have a subfleet.

And, IIRC, the new AZ is parking most of the MD80s....

Noted. Me of two-cabin knowledge.

Indeed. But there are some crazy a$$ connections for dirt cheap, though I need to piece together the timing.

I usually stick with Avis or Hertz as they are USUALLY less hassle, though I do not think ssullivan has the option for work travel.

In my younger days I cheaped out and went Thrifty, but got tired of beat up cars and rental centers miles away from the airport.

We have National and Avis available as our preferred agencies. National is rarely a problem for me, with this one exception.

I'd rent from Avis more if they had better rewards. But I'm spoiled by National's generous free days and choose your own car concept. The only reason I hadn't switched to Avis just at BTR is I really need to earn some more free days from National to use for our summer vacation.
