For a moment, I thought you meant BaseBall size hail.

Sadly, my tickets were not purchased in Ocean County, NJ.:(

I'm on a roll today of good fortune. I almost have my claim settled with my hit and run driver via Ryder Truck Company. I got my late fee and finance charge reversed with Citi MasterCard. And I filled The Box's poop quota.

Does anyone want me to assist them in fixing something today?

If you can help drive the last vestiges of the flu from my poor, aching body, I'd be most appreciative.

Chicken noodle soup, a warm bath and call your SO for drugs.
I'm sorry to hear that you are still feeling bad. Hope you feel better soon.

It may be slightly worse than other major cities, but not so much so that I would avoid it (at least that's been my experience in the last year). If you stay in the nicer parts of the city, and don't cross the border, it's not really an issue.

I stayed at the ELP Marriott based on ssullivan's recommendation and I stayed at the Courtyard that is a little closer to the freeway at the same exit on the way back. Both stays were in late December 2008/early January 2009. They were clean, quiet, and safe. Just don't go rolling around ELP late at night and you'll be fine.

The area around UTEP, where the newish Hilton Garden Inn is located (opened early 2007) is generally fine too.

I have friends that live there and swear it isn't the kind of gang stuff we are used to in metropolitan America. And it's not isolated to certain neighborhoods, it's targetted.

I think a lot of the stories escape the national news.

:D That's funny. CO never seems to offer SFO for cheap flights.

I changed our reservation to the Courtyard at the airport.

From there we're staying at the Paisano for the rest of the trip

I wouldn't worry about the airport area. Really, most of the city is fine.

Sure -- but that requires a PM or a phone call...
