I don't believe there is any sort of arrivals lounge at AMS for NW/KL/CO, but I am not 100% certain. co.com lists AMS as a city with shower facilities on arrival, but they may be at a hotel (and you would have to be flying CO). As far as I recall, all the KL lounges are airside.

From what I have read in the NW forum, the KL lounges may not let me in. With my luck at getting into premium lounges they wont.

The question is (and here is where I am not certain because I never have tried to use a lounge when arriving at AMS and not connecting) can you get off the plane and access a lounge without clearing immigration and then having to re-clear into the sterile area. I think that in AMS, the non-Schengen flights just dump out into the non-Schengen area, and if you want to exit into AMS, you just go through the immigration and if you do not, you just walk to a lounge or other non-Schengen gate. It has been so long since I have not just exited into AMS or connected to a non-Schengen flight that I cannot recall whether there is any onward boarding pass and passport check to get back into the non-Schengen area. I think the last time that I connected non-Schengen to non-Schengen, I just walked to the connecting gate without any security/document check (until security at the next gate, of course).

I would like to know about arrivals facilities at AMS for myself, as well.

In the non-schengen area you can just walk to the lounge, no problem, without having to clear customs. You could always purchase a refundable AMS-LHR one-way ticket if you wanted a ticket to the lounge.

I lurked off and on for two years between 1999 and 2001. By then my work travel had picked up, and I joined.

Thank you. Only 6 More hours until I can celebrate with a Belgian Ale!

To think, if you were spending the day in TLV or SYD, you would have been celebrating already. Too bad.:p

Happy birthday! I'll buy you a drink next time I see you — and I'm not talking about the Presidents Club either.

Well if it isn't Gramps Sullivan. :D

ETA - Just noticed sbm12 has been registered longer. You two should schedule some shuffleboard DOs. You could make mudslides with Ensure. :D

The TSA shirts need to be updated to the correct color. Otherwise, spot on! ^

The Houston Chronicle is looking for the best regional fast food chain. Whataburger is on there. I voted!

You are so not funny. Especially since it's less than a month now until I pass the halfway point between 30 and 40.

Thanks! Just voted too. And so far, Whataburger is in the lead by a landslide, followed by Chick-Fil-A.

We'd better get you fitted for a mobility scooter, then. :p

I was lurking in 2000 but didn't bother to register until I needed to search, I think.

And I know that monitor's registration precedes mine.
