I found an Italian restaurant in London that is very good and not too expensive, the owner walks around and shows you the day's fresh pasta on a cart.
I have to find the business card and I will let you know the name.

Thanks.

I wonder if this will become more commonplace in a down economy.

That's really sleazy. I once worked for a woman and her husband, and they would have pulled a stunt like that. In fact, despite their comfortable six figure salaries, they bragged about going to a local charitable organization in Houston that served a free breakfast on Saturdays for people in that part of town just for the free meal, despite the fact that unlike everyone else there, they weren't on welfare.

Just got off the phone for f/u to my iterview on Tuesday, and the call came with a nice offer.

Details to be worked out, but all is good here with a new job and a nice salary increase.

Too early for a drink, I think, but we'll rectify over the weekend.

J

Congrats!!!

Nice blog/quote Seth. I don't understand why so many people are hating on the short trips. It used to be so hard to get (a non-FTer) to go for a quick trip to a beach or MSY or whatever. My longest vacation has been ~10 days, and that happens about once every 3 years. Three-four days seems to be my norm for a real vacation, less when it's an obscenely good fare. I was planning for the same for my winter defrost trip this year, but the destination we chose, CUR, has Saturday only service. Darn it's going to suck to spend a whole week down there.

This has been the week from Hell at work. Great client, but too d@mn much to get done and no time to do it in. I need serious sleep, but don't really even have time to do that.

The gentleman in 1B is Phil. He is a regular on the PHL-IAH route. He works in South Jersey, but lives in Houston. He goes home on Friday evenings, and you'll probably see him on 1776 back to PHL on Sunday evening. Every week like clock work. Nice guy. Always listening to his ipod. Include him in the party.^ I saw him every few weeks on the Sunday evening flight. He always gets an upgrade (at least when I flew). If you talk to him, tell him Gil said hello. He might not remember me. I told him I was going to move to Houston, and I finally did. No need for flying PHL-IAH R/T anymore. I am envious of you all on the party flight.

I cant sleep either. Been Cleaning my house and packing. I am going to the DO and then to MRY for a week.

I feel like I have way too much but I have uniforms for day work and then evening party stuff.

Baglady.... I may have you beat on bags this time. Looks like 4 bags.

Mackieman Feb 6, 2009 4:11 am

I would love some sleep. I just got off my DL redeye and am currently sitting at ATL's B25 cursing the CRC across the hall for not having free WiFi, thus causing me to tether my BlackBerry to get online.

No. Sleep. Till Brooklyn.

Or IAH. Whichever comes first.

Nice article. Sucks about having to watch the super bowl on your trip.

Actually that was fun. It was a sports bar down there with a good mix of expats and locals. I ended up sitting next to a guy that has been on the road for 11 months, basically working when necessary to generate extra cash but stretching out his trip as long as he possibly can. He was pretty interesting. Plus some other locals and tourists all mixed in. It was a pretty good time and better/safer than the other options Port of Spain seemed to be offering.

I definitely am willing to spend more time (especially now that vacation time is easier to come by for me) but never that long a stretch in just one place. If I'm gone for 10 days it is most likely to see three or four different locations, not just one city.
