Just for the record... no one would consider CLE the northeast. Certainly not the northeasterners ;)

In any event, we have an open bar here, so the deck is definitely open. Of course... you should wait until we are out of snow season.... so after Memorial Day.

I'm connecting in CLE on 12/21...what are the odds that I'll end up crashing in the PClub instead of getting to my destination? December in Cleveland...do people even fly?

Are you kidding me? I grew up around IAH; snow is like the eighth wonder of the world to me.

So is it normal to get a reject form letter less than 24 hours after a phone conversation where it is established that you're "still in the running"? :(

Sorry to hear that :td:

Yup. Sometimes they even fly into CLE on Christmas morning if they have church gigs the night before that (soooo glad I didn't have to do that this year for the first time in a while!)

It's hit or miss. We actually have had a non-white Christmas for the last 2 or 3 years.

Snow seems to lose all it's charms around mid February....

I've come into EWR on Christmas morning - being in an airport on a holiday always seems surreal to me...yet I've done it every year since 1995, so you'd think I'd be used to it by now. The weirdest year was 2000 - down to the grandparents in FLL for Christmas, flew back into ACY on Christmas Day (before NK started to suck) and then the afternoon of the 26th get a limo to JFK to fly to ATH. I've always said that I could handle being a business traveler, but that was one night in my own bed in 19 days. That was rough, but I was also 20 then.

For me, snow loses its charm as soon as I hear "get the shovel".

My 2L year I use my connections to get an interview at this minor firm in Atlanta about 20-30 lawyers. I sit through the 3 hr interview until I meet with one of the named partners of the firm. He says that he evaluates all prospective summers on the basis of a memo he has them write. I can choose to write or not. Well at this point I am desperate and I write the memo. I spend all spring break doing it, and consulting with friend who was on law review about it.

I send it in and this is what I hear back.

Dear Colpuck,

Thanks for writing the memo. However, as you memo failed to consider the opposing party was lying and combined with your grades I can not consider you for the position.

VTY
D-bag partner.

Uh really, ok, I guess if the other person was lying then that would change things; however, there was no evidence in the fact pattern that would suggest he was lying. There is an old saying, "if my mother had a d--k she would be my father". I did not know he wanted me to play the "what if" game. Other people spent their break getting drunk in Cabo, I spent it in the library. Oh well, I am not bitter at all.

We should be here, so if we're having a lake-effect event, we'll come get you.

Yes, we fly rain, or now or shine. Of cours fly e, if you are on a CHQ flight, you're on your own ;)

OK, enough of this. Off to bed. Night box brethren.

Nah, me neither. Should have gone to law school.

I'm up for that. I'm CHQ in, mainline out. Might end up getting imprisoned in PHL like that one time with the ice storm.

Why would you do that??? Don't do that man. People ask me about law school and it takes all I have to choke down the words of displeasure about it.
