Getting from the airport to the hotels is fairly easy. It's getting from the hotels to the University of Baltimore that I can't figure out... Might just take a cab.
Train UB is one block south of Pennsylvania Station (which offers Amtrak and MARC service) on Charles Street. |

More proof that the US airline industry is in dire need of some very specific contraction:
Spirit to levy fee for ticket booking I just heard a story tonight on the way to the Ambassador's thing that Spirit is no longer honoring residual value of tickets. You buy it and don't fly it, F U. Gotta buy a new ticket. No option to pay change fee, nothing. Proud to be ACY's carrier...they screw you to get there, they screw you while you're here, and they screw you to leave.

Just covering myself as I'm still quite new and didn't want to break any proverbial eleventh commandments...but I figured that a little side ramblage was safe enough. :)

I am trying to figure out if it's better for me to stay near BWI or if I should stay in downtown. I will be at the University of Baltimore and the public transit system seems to be disjointed unless you're point of origin and destination are near the light rail or subway.
Suggestions?

Indeed. That's a very strange and rather fun show.

I wouldn't stay by the airport unless you need to be at the airport. Cabs from there are annoying and expensive.
The Residence Inn at Inner Harbor is three blocks from the light rail, so I'll try that. |

One of these days I will meet this guy from the famous CO DO picture. In the meanwhile, tonight I will lift a bourbon and branch to his birthday at The Bristol in the Sheraton across the river from Louisville.

ALCO definitely seems like a ton of fun, but my very first interaction with sbm12 has been seared into my brain... at the IAH E PC... with drinks not only in his hands, but also in his hawaiian shirt pocket... red wine even.
Now THAT is a true professional! :)

So if I understand this, I could get off my flight and get a lounge shower if my room wasn't ready? (The correct answer to this would also do much to justify the NW WC 30-day membership thing.) I have the airport Hilton booked and an early check-in request on file, but it would be nice to know that I have a backup option.

Just a hunch, but methinks this might be a particularly special day for box fodder, even amongst the general level of special box fodder. Who knows. :-p
