Blame everything on dramatic currency fluctuations of the Dutch Kroner. That and dykes. I always blame the dykes. |

I know about (and adhere to) the "When in Rome..." philosophy, but I'm not a gin guy. I would also guess that in that part of the world, pink drinks are OK in the hands of guys. :D

Tis only beautiful if one likes the ingredients. All it took for me to swear off gin was one sniff of an open bottle about ten years ago.

Eh, what's shameful about not doing it? They have a product for sale which has a loophole that allows people to exploit it for free. It's arguably unethical to exploit that loophole when there are reasonable alternatives available.

Dunno if it would be guaranteed, as I'm not sure KL has a policy similar to CO's, where you can access the lounge as a member, even when not flying. Safest (& cheapest) way is to buy a refundable one-way biz ticket. The biz ticket gets you access, and you can refund it after you leave the lounge. It will just eat up a portion of your available credit limit for the 7-10 days it takes for the refund to process.

A well-made Singapore Sling is a beautiful thing. The problem is, very few barkeeps know how to make a good one.

I actually believe that this approach is stealing. If you are doing it to f with the TSA where you would otherwise have access that is one thing. Doing it solely for the purpose of getting free access to a lounge is, IMO, fraudulent. He's buying the ticket, at which time the airline does what they want with the money used to purchase it. If they're smart, they'll turn that $1200 into $4000 and make a profit, even if the ticket gets refunded. On its face, it's stealing, but that does not mean the airlines cannot come out ahead. |
