I picked up some Chimay to go with my dinner this evening. ^

I love Chimay and love presenting it as a host/hostess gift. Most people are like whiskey tango foxtrot is this?

Then they try to drink it like Miller Light....

:D

drank many Belgian and other brews. Didn't get kicked out. Made the uneventful walk to the boy's place after 5 or 6 good ones. Thanks to my fellow box denizens for walking me through the unexpected stick-it-to-the-ex encounter ^

No, it's cheese food, or cheese product, or whatever the technical name is. Anyway, it made up less than 20% of the cheese sauce, and was mainly just there to help give it a creamier texture.

The rest of the cheese was fontina, cheddar (both sharp and medium), monterrey jack, and one that I don't remember the name of that Whole Foods was giving out samples of that was incredibly good. It was an import from The Netherlands.

We each brought one through security at IAH E after the DO.

Nope. It was something I'd never heard of. I'd remember those two.

I love finding great cheese with odd names. I hosted a small italian dinner recently and put myself in the hands of the cheese monger at a local italian importer here in Cleveland. Beyond the wonderful tastes he provided, he really did a great job of pairing with the salami I was serving as well as the wine and dinner.

There is also a new place in town, L'Albatross, that has a wonderful menu and, most importantly a great by the glass list that is supported by a fromagier. He brings out a board with about 20 cheeses and matches them with drinks or food.

Long live stinky cheese!

Maasdammer? It is a very creamy, high quality cheese

Velveeta is something, however I do not think it is cheese.

I grew up a few miles from a nuclear power plant. I always thought Velveeta was made from the bottoms of a tank in the reactor system. "Cheese" shouldn't visibly retain your fingerprint when you touch it.

I've heard as such - and the rumor is that he's quite the engaging storyteller and one hell of a chef. He also owns a Fat Boy with Stanley Cup airbrushing on the tank. It doesn't get too much cooler than that.
