The whole point is to build miles wherever possible so maybe we don't pay for a TATL at some point. That line of reasoning lost out to fear of jet lag and having to be up early the next morning.

I have only given up on a MR segment due to exhaustion once, on a DCA-SJU run. It routed through IAH on the way back, and I was so hungover and tired by the time I got back to IAH that I couldn't stomach IAH-DCA-IAH. I've also had to bail mid-MR once on DCA-IAH-DEN, due to . Interestingly, CO credited me the segment I didn't fly, and gave me a TravelClub credit for it. :D

I purposely booked my LIM trip IAH-SFO-EWR-LIM-EWR-SFO-IAH, so that I wouldn't have an opportunity to bail. I'm going to be a gibbering wreck by the end of that one.

Good point. I treat the "I'm going to follow you so I can just promote my stupid website to the world" people the same way. I get a few of these types following (or trying to) me everyday. My block list is now a mile long...

EDIT: I just realized that a lot of what I post on Twitter could double as a post in The Box. That should give you some insight in to the usefulness of my tweets. :)

Good morning. I take it you saw the giant  in the sky and made your way here?

Sounds like what revenue management has been doing with IAH-ATL flights on Fridays lately. There will be no upgrades showing on the website, 15-20 people on the airport upgrade standby list, and 1 or 2 of 8 F seats booked. The three hour EUA dump won't happen, and then at the gate they'll clear 6-8 elites off the airport standby list. This, on flights where the EUAs used to come five days out for Platinums like clockwork a few months ago.

When is SPG.com not ?

Actually the worst I've ever seen SPG.com was Wednesday night. We went on there to book my partner's reservation for the NYC Auto Show in April, and the site wasn't up. Instead it was displaying a directory folder tree for the entire site. I could click through all of the folders and look at the individual files on the SPG.com web server. That lasted for a good half hour or so, around 10:00 PM eastern time.

I would be dating myself if I said the precise price but a case of Beast or Natty Boh (National Bohemian) was cheaper than a case of soda when I was an undergrad.

In the meantime, I pick up my new car tomorrow :)

Weather is much the same here too.

What car did you buy?

Nah, the Otter isn't desperate. You'll know he's desperate for domestic travel destinations when he starts trying to copy some of the more absurd lines on my FlightMemory map, particularly those within New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming.

Jet lag after getting back from SEA!?

Just teasing... :D

She's the most fragile human being I've ever met. Can't be in the back seat of a car, feels 100,000-ton cruise ships moving when they are tied up in port, doesn't finish one full cocktail, and thinks that two days on Pacific time will wreck her for a week. She actually said "I don't know how I'm going to respond the next day when we're home." Um, WHAT????????

Granted, she's not nearly the traveler that I am, so I can kind of see the point. But I think the biggest injustice that I've had to deal with so far is that she refused to go on a rollercoaster with me. And it's not like I was trying to get her to go on the SuperPuke Express. She made a stink over Big Thunder Mountain.

I don't want to bite the hand that feeds me (cheese soup) but why do GA's not clear the standby list before boarding? Waiting until everyone boards is such a  as you generally have to leave your carry-on at the back of the plane. Especially on short-bus 73-5's.

I made a res on SPG.com about an hour ago and had no problems.
