Wow, my partner is quite the gourmet chef tonight. He made me dinner — homemade garlic soup (yum!), steak, a very tasty salad, and French bread — and now he's baking a white chocolate truffle cake from scratch! We're also on the second bottle of wine. I had to run to the grocery store twice, but it's been worth it. The morning may have gotten off to a crappy start with his car being broken into, but the day has ended well. :D

Our hosts in HKG kept insisting on taking us for a massage when we got there, but I didnt want to. I just felt weird about it for some reason. I am strange like that.
I got into EWR at 2pm yesterday and tried to stay up as long as I could. I think I fell asleep about 9pm and work up about 3am. I have been up ever since with a nap here and there, but I feel like I have been in a car accident! I was not comfortable in BF, I think I am just too damn tall. My feet were hanging off the footrest. I think next time I go, I am just going to shell out the cash and fly business on an Asian airline. I hear Singapore airlines have one of the best business class seats out there. Oh and I am such a picky eater, I lost 7 pounds. I don't eat pigeon, chicken feet, duck neck or any of that weird stuff. The best meal I had all week was my steak in BF on the way home. MR BL eats a lot of Italian and Ruth Chris while in HKG; while in China if Italian is not available, he'll do Chinese beef and chicken and be happy (he's a VERY picky eater). He doesn't eat any of the above mentioned (nor do I but I do well with the seafood, tofu and noodle dishes). I am not a SQ fan but that's because years ago they tended to treat female fliers like dung. I think they are trying to turn that around and when CO goes *, I'll probably use them for getting to SGN (only 2 flights for me that way). I'm a CX fan and have had great seats and service from them and had truly hoped CO would go OW just for that! |

Wow - talk about flying geek...on Airfleets there is a functionality to sign in and add a log entry if you have been aboard a particular tail number.

Go to airfleets.net. Search for Continental first. Then in the table of CO's fleet types, select the type of aircraft you flew. Next, run a search for "202" and look for it to appear as the last three digits of the N number. Airfleets.net splits the fleet lists over multiple pages, so you may have to search the first page, and if you don't find it, click to the next page, search again, and repeat until you find it. The find feature in your Internet browser comes in handy for searching.
Also had some CO Drink Certs from belynch waiting in my mail pile when I got home this evening. Flight back from BRU should be tolerable in whY. :D ^ |

I get to add my first flights of the year on Monday! But nothing as exciting as what's been added so far — but I will get the first official Redneckistan airport to the Penalty Box FlightMemory. :D

Speaking of dogs, we went to see Marley and Me tonight. Dog owners will bawl like children with skinned knees. Former (ahem) dog owners will look like they turned on the waterworks to get out of a traffic ticket. Can Owen Wilson act? Nope, not yet. The dog is the star by far. Bring tissues, but it's great. |

What's so bad?
I had to use the restroom in Kowloon at the train station, but I didnt want to hold up the group so I figured I would wait until we got on the train. After we boarded, I tried to open the door to the toilet and it was locked. I then tried the other door in another car, it was also locked. Then the guys we were traveling with informed me that the door to the toilet stays locked until we enter China, because when you flush the toilet, it drains out of the train and on the tracks . Like BL said, the part of china I went to was not the garden spot. I am working on adding pictures and will post a link soon. |
