I'm so happy I could pee. I finally get to fly somewhere on business. A last minute trip to support a customer in ATL has me flying DL from SAN on Monday. And, to make the redeye more palatable, the refundable Y fare is $400 more than a B-UP which puts me into first both ways. I'm looking at the Atlanta Marriott Northwest since the folks I have to go see have offices at the I-75/I-285 interchange. Other recommendations are welcome if that's a bad idea. :D:D

Holy EUA Batman!

I was in the teens on the waitlist earlier tonight when I checked in. I was number 2 with 1 seat left as of 5 minutes ago. And I just heard my favorite line ever, "Passenger Miller, please approach the podium."

Yes, seat 1B will be just fine, thank you very much.

:D :D ^^^

Oh, and drinks with ALCO and rolov at PC C South tonight were very nice. See you guys in the air over the west somewhere tomorrow.

S.

He drank plenty in the PC and is eating a nice plate of bourbon chicken and rice right now. He'll be fine.

Random box question:

Are the new 738s being delivered with only 16F seats? I think the answer is yes as I am on one right now and I have power but no IFE. I am surprised they are coming as 16F instead of 20F.

Yes - all of the new 738s are being delivered with 16F seats and of course no mid-cabin lav.

I didn't win at my raffle, but cruisr didn't win either and she had a ticket that went deeper than mine...she made it into the final 100. My mother and a couple of her clients had some tickets in the final 100 also. Our 50/50 was $1,035 to the winner, and Sarah missed on that. Oh well. I've never made it into the final 100.

And from what I hear, the 20-seat versions are not long for this world.

Well, so far my KE redemptions have gone fairly well. I was able to get 2 J seats between ICN and BKK on the same days/flights. The JFK-ICN flights are a little different - right now we are leaving JFK for ICN on 2 different days and returning to JFK from ICN on the same day but on 2 different flights.

With the date being over 9 months away, I'm still hopeful that another seat will open up on the TPAC segments and we'll be able to find something together. If not, then it's back to the drawing board all together...

I also have the task of finding a good fare from BKK-SYD/MEL/AKL. Maybe I can fit in the SQ A380... :)

Did the ATL-ICN flights get you anywhere seatwise?

Unfortunately all of KE's flights from the US and Canada to ICN had only 1 seat available. I opted for JFK since it's a drive and not a flight away from us (plus they use the 744 for JFK-ICN).

I was actually shocked that I got what I did this early in the game...

I blame ALCO. He made me start posting in that other thread. He's a bad influence on me.

Thanks All for the Congrats!

Whew! Finally home. We arrived home around 10pm. I had to go to a medical equipment rental place and pick up a billy light machine. My baby has jaundice. :( Oh well. I hear it is common. As long as we take care of it, baby Photog72 should do well. Mom (is doing well) and baby are upstairs sleeping, and I am catching up on FT. I didn't go online from the hospital today. It was too busy of a day. Dad and brother are coming to visit tomorrow. They are flying FL (very infrequent travelers) FLL-ATL-HOU. At least FL doesn't hit them with a 1st bag fee and gives free XM.

ssullivan and CM, we received those valet keys with our Hondas. My wife has an '04 Civic that came w/ 3 keys. One is the gray valet key. My '06 S2000 also came w/ 3 keys, one gray. You should have received a key number plate with your keys. You will need this key number if you ever have to get a key replaced. Keep the plate stored in a safe place. Let that be a lesson to you!! Have spare keys!! :p
