What will BD Gold give you with UA?

It is *G status. It gets you RCC access, which is of mixed value, and it gets great earnings on UA F (300%) and J (200%) flights.

No bag check fee
priority boarding with all the UA elites except Red Carpet users
they go first
but most importantly its the bonus earning miles on Q ups

Q-Up. Study under the great and wise ALCO to learn the ways, or jsut book whatever he posts here for us. It has worked well for me thus far.

I know about Q-up's; it's just a question of searching farecompare for Q-up's that work for me without time-consuming positioning flights.

The Northeast isn't looking too good for Q-UP fares on a cpm basis at the moment. Best cost-wise I've seen is BWI-CLE on US ($430 all-in), single-connect only via CLT would yield about 4,700mi. (but at 9cpm) :(.

It gives you what everyone just described, but I really do not care about much besides the Q-up earning potential and, to a lesser extent, the RCC access (for use when flying on UA Q-up's).

Yeah, I've been combing through farecompare and have not really seen many attractive opportunities. Perhaps I will coincide some q'up runs with pre-booked trips to the West Coast or South/Texas.

Remind me again when the LH BD acquisition will be complete . . . .

According to FareCompare, UA has a $428a/i coach fare IAD-YXE (Saskatoon). Routing =

FROM-TO WAS-ICT/LNK/CID/OMA/MSP/DFW/MKC/MKE/SGF/STL/OKC/FSD/EGE/COS/FNL/BIL/ABQ/AMA/ELP/CPR/PIA/SLN/PHX/ATL/HOU/MSY-DEN-LAX-SFO-PDX-GEG-SEA-GEG-YYC-YXE*

If you could ever get it to price out (with UA codeshares on AC, I'm guessing), you could route IAD-LAX-YYC-YXE and back, for 7,633mi (5.6cpm). Not a stellar cpm figure, but pretty decent for a flight to Canadia.

When Q-UP sales occur, it is often possible to earn miles at 3cpm or less on BD, because you earn 300% (sometimes 600%) on purchased F fares. When a good Q-UP comes out, it's often possible to earn miles at a lower cpm figure in the front cabin than down the back.

And this is why some of us are going to OKC this weekend and some to SNA. :)

I may have to cancel my second trip in Jan, a little bummed about that.

A good friend of mine owns the restaurant that will be featured on Kitchen Nightmares tonight. Check it out.

I have dined here before many times and it is a great place, just out of the way for me, way out of the way. I have not seen the episode that will air tonight, but I can only imagine how it will look.

There is a show on MSG right now titled "Is Colon Detox Hype?" The description is "Internal cleansing has swept across America."

I fear for our future.
