On my honeymoon? No thanks. :)

Wherever you go, just make sure you can stay put for at least four days. Having to travel around and keep a schedule will seriously put a dent in the experience, even if you love to travel as much as most of us do.

The Hilton Phuket is one of the nicest properties I've ever stayed in. I got a jr. suite for 65USD/night.

I also recommend checking out www.ppisland.com. Perfect for a honeymoon. ;)

Yep. HKT is the "rest & recuperate" portion of the Honeymoon for us. Five nights of doing nothing. The rest will be a bit more hectic.

In other news, the amount of  that is still going on here astounds me. Also, the Marriott Newport Club Villas are  and I wouldn't mind staying here again. This villa is bigger than my apartment at home.

I looked at the LM Khao Lak, but they didn't offer anything above Junior Suites on points for the Honeymoon. Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket was offering 1,000 sq. ft. Lagoon Duplex Villas on points, so I jumped at that, instead. I understand that the LM is usually generous with upgrades, but am just not willing to risk it on the Honeymoon.

This will be a paid stay for me as their ocean front villas are very reasonably priced. I'm burning SPG points in Sydney instead.

Same for us. We were to be at the LM for 5 nights while the rest of the trip will be no more than 3 nights in one spot.

No kidding! Some people are incredibly irrational.

I've decided to lock myself in The Box for a few days. Please let me know when it's safe to come out. :)

It was between the Westin and the Sheraton (I know the 4P has the best location, but I'm not a huge fan of 4Ps). The Sheraton seemed to get better reviews, so that is where the reservation is at right now. Thoughts?

If mine were paid, I likely would have opted for the LM Khao Lak. Also, the fact that our flight gets in to HKT after midnight put me off making the long car transfer to Khao Lak.

The 4P is not your typical 4P , but if I was choosing between Westin and Sheraton , I would pick Westin , to me it has a better location
you are closer to Darling Harbour and Circular Quay than the Sheraton.

Would your hunger be preventing you from commenting on the golf ball design? :D I'm curious to know if I came up with an appropriate homage to the  deities.

In other news, I've settled on a steak prep. I'm going with Emeril's Marinating Flank Steak prep, except applied to stir fry strips.

In a nutshell, it's jalapenos, garlic, onion, tomatoes, cilantro, lemon, lime, and olive oil put into a food processor and reduced to something that approaches the look of baby flu puke, but tastes much better. I have to go check the fridge for stuff and get it made, since I'm aiming for a ~7pm-ish service.

Oh, almost forgot: I'm very nearly done the trivia contest that I've been talking about. It's a total of 30 categories to pick from, each with six questions per topic. If anyone would like a finished copy of it for corporate use or simply to torment your friends with, let me know. And I'll even be a good guy and include an answer key. :)
