I did that about three years ago JFK-ICN-SYD and return. We got exactly the days that we wanted and IIRC, it was available about three-four months before the trip. I do not recall anything unusual about the process, just the usual call to CO.

Congrats to both photog72 and sdm1130! Sorry to hear of your loss as well, Hartmann. Momentous events all around for our Box Patrons.

I'm not sure how easy it is to find availability on their TPAC flights, but I had absolutely no problem finding intra-Asia availability with them NRT-ICN-BKK. If you're looking for intra-Asia and not finding anything ex-ICN, remember that they have quite a few regional flights ex-PUS.

I believe there are some blackout periods for KE
but other than that redemption is very easy , I just did for my friend using his OP miles.

I almost fired up the BPC for the thread last night
I would have caught up to the leaders

WOW more than 650 posts. I am no ALCO or colpuck, but I sure hope I win.

Crimony, I've been working so much that I missed like six pages of births, birthdays, funerals, and proposals. In any event, congratulations to photog72 and sdm1130 and condolences to Hartmann.

And now I have to head to the office.

I'm sure colpuck's emergency-post-alert system would have activated him and prompted the much-feared list 37-b. :D

Yeah it would have, but I would have used the -jammer
to delay the post-alert and that may have done the trick

In my recent experience booking two months out to South Asia, US-ICN flights were extremely difficult on which to find J availability, but the intra-Asia flights were fairly easy, although I had to make a few changes to get the exact flights that I wanted. In the two months leading up to my flights, I called at least every other day to try to find J availability on a US-ICN flight other than SEA (which required a forced overnight in SEA if flying on CO or NW from the east coast), and was unable to find anything. It seems that because KE prices its J product below that of many competitors, many people use KE to fly from the US to China for business and that most of the J seats on US-ICN flights are actually paid for.

Congratualtions, by the way!

I'm not sure if anyone has yet developed an effective countermeasure to the demoralizing and soul-destroying effects of lolcatz spam. :D

colpuck Nov 6, 2008 8:24 am

I am back in the box.
