I am in that camp. I ate at one of the Ruth's Chris locations here in SAN a couple of years ago only because it was free (work sponsored party). And I did not especially enjoy my steak. The cut was amazing, but steaks are one of the few things that are not made better by slathering them in butter.

No. Ballgames are every year.

Though I am a rabid College-Ball fan, I must agree. It's not every day you get to add ORY-PWM to your FlightMemory.

Stuck in Des Moines Intl. for another 3 hrs. But a cup of chili and a bloody mary (I though a pickle almost as tall as the glass was an interesting touch) are making it bearable....

Oh, and sdm1130, you'll be happy to hear that it's downright balmy here now. 20-something. But there's another snowstorm moving in tonight or tomorrow. Enjoy!!

I order it without butter, though some wait staff consider my request blasphemous.

You have some stones, my friend. They are quite proud of themselves and their heritage.

I'm a steak purist (kind of). Start with some sort of sirloin generously peppered and salted and rubbed. Then a drop of olive oil in a cast iron skillet, and sear the steak for two minutes on each side, then straight into the oven until medium-rare or medium.

Sides usually include sauteed chard or spinach and some sort of potato.

For being a chain, Outback's simple steak is pretty good. They over-salt in my opinion but other than that, their cooking method is one of the better ones.

I had an interesting steak the other night at Gravitas, it was a flank steak over a salsa verde with a side of sauteed kale. The steak was perfectly cooked and not outdone by the salsa.

That pickle is taking up space that should rightly be consumed by vodka!! How dare they?

BSL-PWM :p and ISP-BSL and PWM-ISP.

I'm really torn. If I could could get my post-flight physical done a hair more quickly I'm pretty sure I could get to EWR and make a flight to FLL that would have me miss, at most, only one quarter. But I just don't know.

Any Japanese kobe fans here? Had some about a couple months ago in Las Vegas and while it was tremendously good it was getting to be too much after eating about half of a 10 ounce steak.

Thanks for the update! Hopefully the snow holds off until after I get there. Sitting at IAH now.

Nothing beats a PClub shower after an early morning (yes, I consider 730a to be early morning) flight. ^

Nein! We do not bake our steaks!

Tramonto's at The Westin Chicago North Shore serves Kobe Sliders. They are pretty good.

(Tramonto's was featured on an episode of Top Chef last season... great steaks if you're even in suburban Chicago)

Kobe beef? :D:D

If I'm being honest, it was good and tasted very much like USDA prime beef that you get here in the states. I've been told it 'melts' in your mouth, maybe I was being to literal, but I didn't find that to be the case. It was good, though.

You did that all wrong.;) First you take a bite of the steak to make sure it's a real one (so hard to find these days it seems) If you need the sauce, pour some on the plate and dip a piece in it first to make sure the sauce is suitable.
