I agree with you on the long car trips (DC is totally a long drive!) though for me, not being alone while driving makes all the difference in the world.

I use do drive to near the Fairfax Gov't Center every week which is further than the center of the District. I actually looked forward to the fun of driving on the MD portion of the beltway every Sunday night.

Good night Box.

Hopefully something will come open for you soon. There are some really great rental properties in Midtown and Downtown.

Midtown is very difficult for us to read. We'd like something within walking distance of the light rail (my wife will likely use that to get to/from work) and, most importantly, a place in a safe area. When she leaves the house, I don't want to have to worry about her safety. I also don't want to worry about our car being broken in to. Many ares in Midtown (at least the ones close to the light rail) don't seem to completely guarantee these things.

In Downtown, I feel like the underground, gated parking will be much more secure and, assuming we can find a place on Main Street, the walk to/from a light rail stop will be plenty safe. There is a Downtown loft we have our eye on, but some other things need to fall in to place before we know if that will be an option. We should figure out more about all of that this coming week...

We still have about a month until we will be heading down, so I'm not feeling a ton of urgency yet.

The most important question was overlooked, is there daily maid service and option for breakfast in the room!! :) (just kidding)

Sorry! Only weekly maid service, however daily towel replenishment is available (as well as bottled water). There is a manager's reception from 5 to 7 and continental breakfast from 6:30-9 a.m. ;)

Well I did it! I called Mom. Was a short conversation but a good one. Did get too deep into topic but enough topics were covered that I feel good. Dealing with this has not been easy but I hope things are coming around. Thanks all for the encouragement to call.

Scott, I am so glad you did and that it went well. ^^^

I'm assuming the manager's reception includes free booze? If so, that more than makes up for the lack of daily maid service. :D

Is it just me, or is that not essentially the older CO 757 BusinessFirst seat?

I am too. I just wish this process would be over. Hate that it has to be so drawn out.

Any suggestions on where to stay in The Pit near the Galleria?

Which program?

Let us know when you'll be here and if you have time for a mini do!

Of course; though house brand, not top shelf :o:D

Plus1 and I are trying to figure out where to stay on our Ryder Cup trip (all Wales locations are gone, so we're figuring out closest spot in England that still meets our 2 criteria 1) golf course and 2) spa).

Just realized I'll have renewed SPG Platinum for another year before June 1. ^

Not that this OMNI PR, Yahoo has Solicitor General Elena Kagan as the next Supreme court nominee.

Ordinarily I look first to *wood, but I have read that the Westins near the Galleria are . Second and third choice tend to be Marriott or Hyatt.

I will be there the nights of the 23rd and 24th and will of course have time for a mini do. (Since I don't usually travel on weekends, I figure this is my chance to meet at least some of the Pit contingent.) I'm not sure what time I'll get there Sunday and will probably be working until about 7 pm on Monday.

The only place I can think of is the Belfry near Birmingham. That's not really near Wales, though.

The combined CO and UA could liquidate and not close our budget gap.

I had had a chicken entree at a restaurant on the Shore that billed itself as "stuffed chicken" but was really two cutlets with a bunch of tastiness jammed between them. Seemed like sort of the same, and I thought I'd give it a shot. It wasn't awful, but it's not something I would get again. I'd rather try to recreate that faux stuffed chicken entree.

I really don't get all the  at it. :-:

The thing that IMO drives people  is the sodium and the lack of bread. The idea of having two cuts of fried chicken in a wrapper is a wee bit over the top.

I would be severely disappointed if Hotel Bagworld did not have free booze.

Evening, Box.

I had no idea that Nathan Lane was the Solicitor General.
