Was the price you were quoted the list price, or the price after whatever specials they're offering were deducted?

Also, if you'd like help finding something, I have a great apartment locator in Houston that doesn't charge anything, and pays you back a portion of his commission to go toward your move-in costs.

There was a special for the first month based on where my wife will be working. Beyond that, it was over $2000 a month.

I'll gladly take the name of the apartment locator! It never hurts to have some more assistance... Thanks.

For what it's worth the Canuck declared the US Grant to be one of our favorite hotels ever. And she's stayed at some really nice ones. :-::-:

That place is on my list, but it was $289 a night for the dates I needed. I am paying about $100 a night at each of the other properties.

Even though it's unaffiliated, the Del Coronado should be on everyone's short list. You can watch the Navy SEAL trainees practice beachhead assaults at night.

The sunsets in La Jolla are ^, especially with an alcoholic drink in your hand.

Morning, Box.

I just went over to the UA forum to catch up, and aside from the livery thread (we now have a registered user with the handle SaveTheTulip), the  have mitigated. They've returned to their usual humorless selves.

Good morning Box.

Just had a first class meal for breakfast. Cheerios and a banana.

Not only does that person believe that the brick loves them, that person believes that the brick is great in bed.

I wouldn't have given them the credit of advancing past the stage of humorless. They saw that there is an area on FT beyond the UA forum, and they were repulsed by people who do not judge by status level and engage in lounge thread behavior.

It is not lost on me that many of the names I saw over here causing trouble were the same names I used to see stirring the  in OMNI/PR.

Bom Diddly, Box.

Kauai is my new favorite Hawaiian island. Who knew there was an affordable island?! Main courses for $12 at a sit-down cafe, reasonably priced craft beers at Waimea Brewing Co.?!

Spent a week there in February. It's my favorite of the islands as well.

They advanced from just being humorless (in the sense of boring) to humorless (in the facepalm sense). Now they're back to boring.

Yup, Del Coronado is nice, but it's kind of out of the way from downtown. We took the ferry across and had drinks and watched the sunset from their patio.

The Sheraton is inland, so no sunset opportunities. But, yes, we loved La Jolla too.

With the exception of all the chickens, I really like Kauai too. There's huge stretch of beach just north of the missile range facility on the west side of the island that's amazing. It gets very hot during the day, and there's no facilities, but if you've ever wanted a 10 mile stretch of perfect beach all to yourself -- that's it. Perfect. :-::-:
