Yesterday in History: In 1955, Jim Henson made his first television appearance. 22 years later, Beaker was introduced.

It sure does. We have a lot of people here who are moving now/soon - I guess it's that time of year. Good luck and hopefully soon you will feel "unpacked" again!*

* = I moved in here almost two years ago and I still have a couple of unpacked boxes...yes, I am pathetic :o

Well I did it! I called Mom. Was a short conversation but a good one. Did get too deep into topic but enough topics were covered that I feel good. Dealing with this has not been easy but I hope things are coming around. Thanks all for the encouragement to call.

Coming out has not been easy and this situation has not been fun. To all those parents out there. Be there for your kids, they want to be there for you and be a part of your life but they have to feel welcome first!

VERY happy to hear that. Hopefully this is the beginning of a good positive path for the two of you.

Ohhhh, good for you. So jealous. I would REALLY like to have that status next year for the honeymoon but it's going to be an uphill battle to get there (currently on 6 stays). It doesn't help that a lot of my trips this year either a) were not hotel stays or b) hotels were picked by other people or (mostly) c) no SPG, or any affiliated, properties available. I need to get my physical being to the DC area more because there are quite often good mattress-run-worthy rates there.

Fiancee's parents were in MSY last week. They brought me home beignet mix and chicory coffee. ^ They also apparently missed out on op-ups on FL by one person.

Has anyone ever tried making beignets at home from the mix? I actually think I still have a box from MSY but was a little bit leery of attempting the deep-frying.

JetBlue did it again: all seats $10 tomorrow and Wednesday if you buy today. I'm trying to decide if I can get somewhere for the day...

Wow. Oh, my lack of flexible schedule...

Venturing to Philly (specifically, the Abington area) tonight to meet a friend after his interview. I don't think I've ever driven that stretch of 276 before.

Poops! Won't work. I'm only there 9am to 3pm. :( What is there to do in MEM on a short layover? Anything easy to get to from the airport?

Graceland seems like fun. Perhaps FedEX does tours although it would be dead during the day. I have never been over there. If there was a cheap flight I would think about it!! :)

Good morning Box.

Just had a first class meal for breakfast. Cheerios and a banana.

Was this in First Class or were you saying the breakfast was first class!! ;)

Today in History: In 2001, USA Today publishes a story that says the billions of dollars spent by companies on motivational speakers, retreats, and products has created no tangible evidence that any of it has an effect on employee morale.

In a sense,.

Now, Beaker, you forgot the beaker. Get the beaker, Beaker.

Polihale State Park. My wife, daughter, and I went up there around sunset one evening. I could see one other guy maybe a mile down the beach, but that was it. ^

I gotta write all this down because Mrs. Mackie wants to go. I'm pretty  with the idea because, while I understand that it is beautiful, I get plenty of warmth and humidity here. Why would I want to go somewhere else where it is both warm and humid?

It's not Pit-like at all. Constant sea-breeze, and temps in the low to mid 80s. It's very pleasant outside.

If you head up to Waimea Canyon (3,500ft at teh lookout), it's in the upper 70's with a nice breeze that funnels through the canyon.

Hmm, that doesn't sound bad at all.

Diane Keaton is in our theater tonight. 1400 women are paying to see her lecture. For those who want to cross Delaware off their states visited list, Craig Ferguson is here October 18th.
