Looks like sfobag had lots o' issues last night at work.

Last night was a hoot. Thank god there were 3 of us working in the BSO. Flights were on time but nothing else went as scheduled.

I had three separate people discussing items missing from their bags from a week ago. One surfer dude that couldn't believe that we dinged his board and don't cover that either.

One bag sent to SMF by mistake.

Counter supervisor went home sick.

The best for last was the ticket counter bag belt breaks at 9pm. Nothing like having to cart all the bags thru our office for 2 CO flights and 1 AirTran flight.

Then you should be fine with Hyatt, it is pretty close to DXB.

Which is pretty close to downtown...?

SQ and MH make you sign the back of the tag they put on the bag when you check surfboards, it says they are not responsible for damage to the boards.
(they also check them for free but that is a different :-:)

another poster pointed out that belynch did not specify which passport he was using to enter DXB, therefore his thread is not helpful and and the posts are not expected to be helpful.

I need to pay more attention to the LH forum, but I worry my lurking would be seen as an unhelpful post.

Do they give out anything with the PJs then?

They have soft-sided Boang amenity kits and still have the Van Whatever pjs. On my trip a few weeks ago, I received two different versions of the Boang amenity kit.

LX has better catering than LH, by the way.

Now I've got "United Breaks Guitars" stuck in my head.

The only cure was to go back and watch the video. Whether he lifted the tune or not, the lyrics and the video are pretty damned good.

belynch How much time are you spending in Dubai? The Hilton Jumeriah beach may not be a bad option either.

I stayed at the Hilton Jumeira Beach. The club rooms are teh best option, but the hotel might suck now for all I know; haven't stayed there in almost five years. The beach and pool were nice, though.

Don't give in. Moving companies are hos- they will lie, cheat and hold your items hostage until you pay their ransom fee. Your moving company made a tactical error in refusing to unload the shipment until you paid the 'new' cost, so you win.

Let them fight you for the money. Don't offer to settle until you are contacted by their attorney, if it ever gets that far. Trust me all moving companies are like bricks of poop. You owe them nothing. And stop trying to be the nice guy. They should have called you when they realized that the numbers to cost was wrong and since they failed to do so-too bad. I'm sure they weren't going to give you a refund if the numbers had worked in your favor.

The amount of time he is spending there, going all the way to Jumeira may not be the best option.
Very helpful though.
