Long-hauls are how I've typically requalified for Plat. Last year had BRU, STR, and LIM all in close proximity. I enjoy trying out new places. I thought this was a website for committed travel addicts, not hemispherophobes. :D

Just wanted to add my 'condolences' to the rest about the bathtub 'incident'.:eek: To me -- bathtubs are 'sacred' places & can't possibly imagine how anyone could 'condone' such defiling!:rolleyes::confused:

It looks like the work gods have decided to smote my wife and it makes me glad I didn't book tickets yet. We were planning on doing Salzburg/Munich over a week in March (Spring Break) and she was going to take Friday off to catch the cheaper IAH-FRA flight.

Yesterday the teacher on her team tells her that their classes will be doing data collection exercises (stats class) and my wife replies "I had been planning on taking that day off...", to which the other teacher says, "You can't take the Friday off before Spring Break" and follows it up with an evil look. There is nothing anywhere in the handbook that says she can't take Friday off and on top of that, she never takes any time off other than the days school is already out. :mad: To both my wife and I, data collection is the perfect substitute lesson plan, there's not much that they can screw up.

Anyway, that has turned the trip into Munich only, with maybe a day trip to SZG.

ETA: The 4P Central is 46 EUR / night, but it looks like a dump.

Me: "Had you asked about the Friday in question instead of how you went about it, I would have considered your request. However, in the absence of policy stating that I cannot take that Friday off, I will be executing my original plans."

There's a line in teh Canuck's contract that states personal days can not be taken the day prior or following a holiday. :mad::rolleyes:
